Roxio/Adeptec Easy CD / Direct CD software is well documented as being the major cause of this undesirable shutdown behavior. More or less anything compromising the operating system during the shutdown process could force this reboot. Disabling the "restart on system failure" feature may permit the exact cause to be isolated: Right-click on My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab. Under "Startup & Recovery," click Settings. Under "System Failure," uncheck the box in front of "Automatically restart."

LOL, I know THAT kind of bungalow. The problem seems to have corrected itself. The red shield is no longer there. I wonder if takes until the next scheduled scan, or something, until they are in sync. I'll try to pay close attention next time. nearandwest, I'm not sure when I last ran a full scan. Maybe I'll do that tonight.

I recently completed a renovation in my basement, where I installed the following recessed LED lights in the ceiling: Lithonia Lighting 6" P Series: http://www.lithonia.com/commercial/6%22+p+series+led+modules.html In two places in the basement, I want to use a "lighted" (pilot light) 3-Way Rocker Switch. It turns out though, that when I use them, the LED's don't turn all the way off. If I use regular light bulbs instead, there are no such no problems. I have now tried using the 15amp rocker switches from both Leviton and Pass & Seymour/Legrand, but same result. I guess because the pilot light on the rocker switch is on, that somehow the LED light continues to use that tiny voltage for itself. Am I missing something? I know that it all works fine if I don't use the lighting / pilot light. However, I would preffer to have it so people dont search for switches in the dark. All advice and input is much appreciated!

I wasn't going to do anything because I'm supposed to get auto updates. Ususally when I get the Updates are ready message, I check and they are already installed. Well, I just checked and I have one update necessary. I'm doing it now, hoping that nothing is wrong. It's working, but boy is it slow. I do have virus protection. More scary though - I got a message the other day that a virus was innoculated. Here's hoping nothing is wrong. I can't stand these bored techno-geeks!! With all that we could use their talents for, they choose to do this. I'm sure they could get satisfaction and more money working their talents honestly.
