You can "grab" a selection of your screen somehow - I have a Mac and use the Grab feature. It saves it as a tiff, so then I save it as a jpg and upload to Photobucket:

The door itself is very similar to our interior doors. One over one. We have French doors as our exterior entrance/veranda doors though. They were purchased through our local building supply company (carries doors, windows, lumber). We saw two versions by different companies and went with the thicker, sturdy version.

Here's one of ours (stained dark, and I distressed them before staining)

We ordered a 9 light door from them for the sunroom from breakfast room door. They had a catalog full of variations available, and most likely had the exterior with side lights similar to the Ballard Design photo.

That's not the door, it's the white exterior door which image is in Flash therefore is not "grabbable".

How did you post the pic? It's in Flash. I have never been able to grab a Flash image...

john wc, using a Mac I just took a screen shot of the picture. That saves it as a png file on my computer which I then load in photobucket to post.

That house was designed by our architect (it was the Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Christmas House a couple of years ago). Almost positive it is a custom door made by a local millwork shop.

Apparently this is the house...

There may be a list of resources used in building/designing the house.

Any custom door manufacturer should be able to replicate that door from a picture. i am sure there must be a custom shop in your area or a quality window and door supplier would be able to provide the door for you through a millwork shop.

OP, I finally figured out how to grab a pic written in Flash. You use the Sniping tool to select the image and then save to Pictures. Upload to an image host site like Photobucket and you're good to go. Life will never be the same...

I've actually done that before...like a screenshot, right? I don't know why that didn't dawn on me the first time! I've done that zillions of times with other stuff too. Now I feel silly!

I did email him to ask. He got back to me very quickly and said that it was custom made for the house and a local millshop should be able to duplicate with no problem.

So...anyone know how to find a reputable millshop? I'm assuming this would be atrociously expensive, right?

Several thousand for sure. I would guess 5k.

Assuming that's an 8' tall door, in select hardwood on one side, with applied muntins grilles (I would recommend against TDL), and a simple jambs, if you get a price of $4600, that's probably very fair. Some shops may want more; if anyone wants drastically under that amount, I would wonder how they are going to do it.
Style-wise I make this modification: 5 divisions to the door glass instead of 4; odd numbers usually look a lot better.

As for the door, we built a home at Lake Oconee in 1996/97 and had a custom front door made. It was approx. $3,000 and was made by a builder supply house. Many of the larger suppy houses have a millwork department that does custom work. That may be a good starting point.

I think there is some variation in cost with wood species (we used walnut) and complexity (ours has a simpler muntin pattern). We did TDL at the urging of our builder - he is a purist - so I wonder why the suggestion against it? TDLs would be quite pricey for that pattern - ours are just squares so it didn't add significantly to the cost. Our front door and friends porch door were both custom and both came from the same supply house our windows came from.

Re: TDL, it's just that the joinery required to create those triangles is that real structural muntins strong enough to carry insulated glass would be very dodgy. The glass would be supporting the wood, not vice-versa; but applied grilles over one panel of glass saves tons of time and money. Price it both ways.
