If you are still having problems logging in, please send an email with the subject line "Tamara, I can't login" and I'll investigate it. "Send me an email" links on member pages are still being resolved. For some members, the link is correctly showing on their main page, while for others it appears on the journal pages. I've looked at a lot of member pages over the last day and for those that do show an actual email address, this is because the box was checked off on the member page. If you do not wish your email to show, you'll need to simply go into your member page and uncheck the box. If it still shows up once you do this, you may need to clear the cache in your browser. We certainly respect your privacy and if you wish to not have your email show, this is absolutely your right. It's possible that in porting over registration information, that something happened for some emails to show up when previously hidden. This was not intentional. If you have unchecked the box and your email address is still showing even after having deleted your browser cache, send an email with the subject line, "Tamara, my email is visible" and I'll look into it. Trade lists should once again be visible. Unmodified trade lists are only visible for one year, so if yours is still not showing up, it may be because it was an old list. If you have an active list and it's still not there, send an email with the subject line, "Tamara, I can't see my trade list" and I'll see if we can restore it. If you don't wish to have your email shared with iVillage partners, make sure that you have this option unchecked from your member account. The opt-out option from the iVillage policy will also cover GW members. I do not have cookies blocked. Nor do I clear temp files automatically. So that does not explain why I have to re log in every couple of weeks. BTW, how to set cookie blocking kinda depends on what browser you're using. Don't assume everyone's using Internet Explorer. In Firefox, I have the browser set to allow cookies and to keep them until they expire, and to keep the web history for 3 weeks. Two weeks ago when I first posted here I did not have to re log in. Today I did. I have not changed my settings since before ivillage took over and never had to re log in before. But it would be a good idea for those having problems to make sure their browsers are reasonably up to date. But I'm using the most recent version of mine and still have some problems. So it's something at ivillage if you ask me. And darned annoying too.

Before you go spending money, let's try a few things. When you took your router to default, everything worked fine. When you use a pass phrase, you get to the internet but web sites don't load. I have a copy of your router manual in front of me so let's try a few steps. 1------Log onto your router 2------Under the wireless setup make sure the SSID reads NETGEAR 3------Make sure the operating channel for the wireless mode.is Auto. 4------ Leave the wireless mode set to the default setting of Up to 145Mbps for 2.4GHz. 5------ Select security options for the 2.4GHz wireless network.The wireless Security Options are set to None by default. 6-----use WPA2-PSK as your security option. 7----- enter the following as your passphrase wndr3400 make all letters lower case. Select APPLY at the bottom of the screen. Under DIAGNOSTICS, select the REBOOT option. Once the router reboots, close out all your screens and reboot you computer. When prompted for a passphrase enter wndr3400 all letters must be lower case. Please post back and let us know if that did the trick.

What fascinating stories, natesgram! What a wonderful thing to reconnect with your pen-pal from Micronesia after so many years. That's quite a gift! And what a sweet, sweet story about your father-in-law and how he met the love of his life. :-) My mother really inspired my interest in pen-pals. She had a pen-pal when she was a young girl in the 40s - a girl her own age who lived in Scotland. Mom saved several things that the girl had sent her, and over the years as I was growing up, I used to love to dig out those items and dream about a little girl from long ago and far away. I had my first pen-pal when I was a pre-teen. Her name was Barbara and she was an Italian beauty who lived in New Jersey. She was extremely boy crazy, and quite precocious for an 11 or 12-year old, and I remember being somewhat "scandalized" by her letters in which she told me of kissing (and petting with) boys. Shocking! ;-) When I was an older teenager I briefly had a young man as a pen-pal. His name was Christopher and he lived in England, and was very handsome. I definitely had a crush, but I also had a boyfriend who was jealous of my long-distance letter writing, so I stopped communicating with Christopher. I've wondered a few times over the years whatever happened to him. Thanks to magazines such as Country Decorating Ideas and Country Almanac, I've had quite a few pen-pals, several that I grew very close to throughout the years, even meeting in person and developing a relationship with their families as well. I reconnected with several of them on Facebook (but I no longer have an account there, so have kinda lost track of them again). Back in the early 90s, I probably had 5 or 6 very active pen-pal relationships with women who, like me, had a passion for decorating, collecting, and homemaking. We regularly sent each other "swap boxes" of goodies that we either handcrafted or picked up for one another in various antique shops or even at yard sales, and that was so much fun. Looking back to that time in my life, I wasn't working - I was a full-time homemaker - and the letter writing definitely filled a void and made my days at home more interesting. I still can't quite believe all of those pages and pages that I hand wrote! I just wrote a brief thank-you note to a work contact, and my handwriting has become just atrocious throughout the years. I know it wasn't this bad when I was regularly writing to my pen-pals! Fun topic! It made me stop and remember some really neat people from my past.
