I don't know Chrome well enough to help, but I can say that Firefox with the Ad Blocker add-on takes care of them just fine.

I took the liberty of tagging the original thread below. It is so much easier for members to understand, learn and help when issues are kept on a single thread.

I use firefox with AD block plus and have added the Rick's Easy List filters, takes care of all the dreaded ad's.

You mention in your original thread you accidentally hit something to allow all GW ads, if you would tell us what you hit and if it was on a browser or just where and what it might help.

While I was in GW, I saw something in the bottom right of my screen saying "Allow Pop up Blockers for GW". I hit it inadvertently. Now, I can't seem to get rid of them, although right now I don't see any pop up when I got on today, and as I write this.

I don't have the Google toolbar (I'm using Chrome)and don't want it (takes up too much space). I shouldn't have to download anything else just to get rid of pop ups since I "thought" my blocker in Control Panel should do away with them when it's on.

that would sound like it was a pop up blocker in Chrome then if it was on the screen bottom area. I do not use chrome but I am sure there is a pop up blocker setting area in it just as there are for IE and firefox. The one you set in control panel is for Internet explorer only.
