On the photobucket screen, look in the right upper corner area. CLick on "account options". Scroll down to Album Settings. Click on "edit my album settings". Where it says "My album is" select public. Click on save. Hope this helps, Stumpy

Clare, The column on the left has a gray looking area at the bottom that looks like a disabled link. That's where you type whatever you want the name of an album you prefer. Once you have it you click on that album and at the bottom left again you can put sub albums. After that is done you click on a photo that you want in that album then click "move" at the top of the picture. On the screen that apperars you click on the arrow to scroll down til you see the album you want the picture in and click on the album name. Click move again ( I think ) and that should do it. I'll bet this is clear as mud, but it's the best way I know to explain it. Linda

It is mind-boggling how many people surf the net for information, truly. And it seems unbelievable to us because we are reading threads with a number of recognizable (to us) names, like Annz and Parma and Flyleft and Moonshadow, Kswl and Amity.......etc. So, in our limited view, there are maybe a few dozen people that click on Favorite Yellows or Should I buy this Karastan Rug? But, for every person that posts, (you KNOW this is true since you do it all the time yourself) there are many, many, many, readers. Think of how many threads you read or links you access or stores you pop into due to a link at Garden Web..........but only read, do not comment. Well, multiply that by at least 100. And if you posted a photo in a thread, then, those 100 people who didn't comment, have all looked at your photo, thus creating a 'hit' on your picture site. I posted a recent shot on the "Does Anyone Want to Do a Photo Thread Again" thread on the Discussions side here. I had just uploaded the photo to a Picturetrail site I use. Today, Picturetrail sent me one of those notification emails to tell me that that photo already had like 300 views. Staggering, huh? I would have told my DD to wait till I could strike a nice modelesque pose had I known that it would end up on a little nonsense thread here. Anyway...........Does that mean everyone wanted to see ME? Well, no. (Tear in my left eye right now---catch in my voice.) It just means that anyone that scrolls down through that thread will see that photo. Thus, the hit. Now, for making your photos private. If you have young children and want them to stay off the Net, then, really, don't put them on the Net. Or make your private family shots private from the beginning. If you are posting photos of your bathroom paint job, or your kitchen cabinets or your new bedroom set, then, you probably want your album public for those pix. Otherwise, who's going to look at them? Your friends aren't caring about your living room redo on the net. They can go over to your house to see. Those photos are for us decorating crazies who need to see what shade of beige really works with maple cabinets, or how to accessorize a table in the living room just right. And while you may feel like you know Red or RenoFan or Organic and be happy to have them come see your new Marmoleum floor, you may feel less happy that 765 Anonymous People from all parts of the Planet also liked your Tyler Taupe bathroom and your new Antique white kitchen cabinets. But if you are careful with your pictures and try not to include anything truly private or potentially embarrassing, it ought not to be a big problem. Red

I'm guessing you're probably posting a lot of pictures lately? johnmari - Like susieq07, I have never received that email before. I have had PhotoBucket for almost 3 years. Just last week, I went through and cleaned my albums up a bit and deleted several images. Furthermore, I have not been on this board, or the other board I frequent, very often lately. So, I have posted very few photos in the last month. Makes me wonder if I my photos are getting a lot of traffic for some reason. terriks - I do have my settings on Private, but cannot remember if that box is checked. I'll go take a look. I also want to change a few other settings. johnmari - How do I put the photos back on my hard drive, or is there someway to transfer them to a CD? I really don't want to join another file sharing site.
