Help me with bathroom paint color.

I am building a new home for just me, after the passing of my DH and am having trouble picking colors for the bathrooms and would like your help...and pics if you can.

Vanity...mocha stain birch (dark brown)...white onyx counter/sinks, white tub and shower, brushed nickel fixtures, light gray/white tiles with pewter grout, and I was thinking some color of a "seam foam" grayish blue paint...any suggestions? Thanks!

Phoggie, first of all I am very sorry about the loss of your husband and happy for you as you move forward in your new home. I am not any help for the specific color you're looking for, but I know someone will come up with the perfect color for you here. I've seen several folks post just that color either on the bath forum or on the home decorating forum. Best of luck to you!

You don't happen to live in an area where you can buy California Paints, do you? I have a bathroom in our summer house that we painted using Amelia, which is one of their Historic Colors of America. It is a lovely color that has the grey/color-of-the-sea look. You can see it on line... My bathrooms finishes are similar to yours. I wish I had a photo, but I don't have one at hand. Good luck!

I just painted my family room a green color. This is the first experience I had with green anywhere in my house. The first color I tried was called Sea Grass by Valspar Signature Collection at Lowe's. This is a pretty color, but with my north facing room it wasn't right for the room. I ended up repainting the family room in Dried Chervil by Behr. Both colors are very pretty. Sea Grass is brighter, Dried Chervil is toned down. Hope this helps a little.

I'm not an expert but when choosing paint colors, I prefer contrast. I would get a few samples and paint some spots on the wall to see what works the best with your tile. If the tile leans more towards white I think a soft sage color would be pretty with the elements you've described, but if your tile leans towards a brown, it's hard to say. If you can post pictures, it would really help.

I would like a lemony yellow..to sort of reflect the natural light ...then look for some things personal to the boys to frame for the walls..or have them do drawings using turquoise ..yellow..and royal blue sharpies...to frame simply and display...you could pick a fun...colorful ...shower curtain and use those colors for the sharpie pics...

What color towels are you thinking? Not that you have to have settled on them yet, but is there a vision? If you plan white, but room is all grays and whites, I worry might in fact be too “cold. “ Unless you already have plans and places for special colorful art ( including greens and gray- greens as colors) and perhaps wood accessories or warmer colors. And while gray, white and black can often go with bright colors, some of your tones being considered aren’t in the direction- they’re a bit warmer and softer, which is quite nice. So wondering if there are some textiles that could help inform the paint choices and vice versa. And not sure of the black hardware …

Try Woodlawn Blue HC - 147 or Wythe Blue from Benjamin Moore. Good luck!

How about BM Bunny Gray. This is the paint color on the walls, with a white on the cabinet that is called Distant Gray (if I remember correctly). The white is the whitest color on the same paint strip as Bunny Gray. As you can see the Bunny Gray is a bluish gray, not lavender or tannish. It is a good match for my whitish blueish marble mosaic.

I have Wythe Blue in my master bath and I loved it so much there that I painted the walls of the second bedroom in it.
Beautiful, grey/blue that seems green-ish. Just a gorgeous color.
