change the light bulb in Sirius range hood
Comments (7)I found this on line.... Bulb replacement is accomplished by prying the lamp out with a sharp instrument. Take caution that the glass does not fall out and break. Do not remove the entire fixture, as this is very difficult to re-install. Bulbs are available from the hood fan supplier or direct from Sirius. If in doubt call customer service and support for assistance toll free 866 528-4987 It sounds like it might be pretty hard to do, without breaking it....See MoreWhat light bulbs do you use in kitchen?
Comments (11)CFLs are working fine for me in the kitchen. A small room with eight 23w CFLs (each equivalent to 100w incandescent) is adequately lit. I'm interested in LEDs for the dining room's eight pendants. Our dining room is a multi-purpose space - the kids use it for homework, SWMBO for sewing and painting, plus dining of course - so we want the light level to range from very bright task lighting to mood low. For full bright, we used to have 100w incandescent bulbs in each pendant. That's 800w I was burning! The dimmable CFLs I've tried don't dim down to ''mood'' low-light levels. LEDs might be better, but the glass pendant shades are fairly small and the 100w-equivalent LEDs I've seen don't fit. Plus, at 8 x $60 = $480, LEDS are still too rich. So we currently have a combination of dimmable CFLs and halogens, and keep looking for something better. Almost every other light in the house is ''warm (soft) light'' non-dimmable CFLs. I'm perfectly happy with them. LEDs would have to come down by 75% in price and 50% in size to get me interested. The next project is to replace some wall switches with timer switches, since no-one can seem to turn lights off when leaving a room....See MoreZephyr Hood - Help re Lights
Comments (3)Our Zephyr Typhoon came with a small black suction cup for bulb changing, housed in a little black plastic drawer at the back of the hood. We buy Phillips halogen replacement bulbs at HD, which are easier to change and seem to last longer than those than came with the hood. Comments (0)Has anyone had to replace accordion ducting with rigid ducting for a new vent hood? My contractor put in the wrong type when installing my kitchen and it now needs to be replaced, not only to be up to code but to accommodate for the Zephyr. I have a 30" Bosch gas range 500 series. My HVAC contractor tells me I don't have to have a range hood - but that doesn't seem okay & that I would need to take down my cabinets to fit the new ducting in. This is way scary as I don't want damage!! Kitchen was just done over a year ago. Is it not possible to simply pull out the accordion ducting and slide in the rigid duct without having to uninstall cabinetry? It's about a 10 foot run to the outside wall at most....See MoreEllen1234
