Two Identical Folders?!!

(Using Vista & Word 2007) I just discovered that my computer shows two identical DOCUMENTS folders in Word 2007. When I deleted one, it deleted BOTH of them. After my panic feeling was over, I restored one of them, and it restored both of them. What gives? I only have one user on this computer, & haven't a clue how this happened.

Are you shure one is not a shortcut with the little arrow in the bottom left of its icon?(if you havent turned off the arrows).

I'd right click each and look at/compare properties for some difference, maybe ?

Actually, I did look at both of them & went thru the properties & they're identical. They each have 2.68 GB of info in the total folder. If one was a shortcut, it would usually only have 1kb. As I stated above, when I deleted one of them, they both went to the Recycle bin. I also had both open to compare them & when I deleted a file, it immediately removed it from both of them! This is weird. I also searched on Microsoft & didn't find anything remotely similar.

This is the second one. It was the smallest and kind of hidden and sad looking, but I was so curious about it that I needed to have it! None of the plants there have tags of names or info's unfortunately. Can anyone shed some light on this little guy. I searched my books and to me it looked a bit like the Peperomia Caperata or emerald ripple.

Two identical guppy tanks, reproduction in one and not the other.

The guppies in the one tank are cannibalizing the tiny ones. I took five little ones from the left tank and put them in the right tank and adults sucked them in immediately. They had a feeding frenzy like they do when fed fish food from the store.

Re-arranging Booksmarks and Folders in Firefox

With Firefox open, go to the top of the page and click on "Bookmarks," then "Show All Bookmarks. When that opens up, you can click on various folders and select whatever bookmarks you want within them using the Shift or Ctrl techniques that you seem to know; then cut and paste then to whatever other Bookmark folder you want. Does that work for you?

If computer works ok otherwise, I would open my computer, right click the main drive, C? ... choose properties. Use Disk Cleanup there. also System cleanup is there and will remove all but your last Restore point but clean up some other files too. Restore points often will screw up when the master boot record or partition tables get changed or messed up, which happens with use something other than windows like PartionMagic to make or resize a partition. Or hard drive failing. After saying/thinking, I would also run a diskcheck from the same C drive properties/system tools. Maybe do that first.

I have always had 2 identical 'my documents' folders as long as I've had XP.

I just recently replaced my hard drive and the tech installed the same XP, I have 2 folders again. One is placed directly under 'Desktop' in Windows Explorer tree and the other is under 'My Computer'.

I also searched MS and found nothing.

Glad you posted this geebee. It's not the biggest problem to have but it sure makes you wonder.

These two folders are not in different locations, they're both listed under my user name (I'm the only one using this computer.) I also renamed one of the folders & it renamed both of them! These two are tied together somehow!

It's actually the same folder. It's just two different ways to get to it.

Might try disk error checking ?
Right click C:/ drive, click Properties, click Tools(tab), Check Now(button), Checkmark ..'automatically fix file system errors.
