Comments (14)I strongly disagree with Homepro01 , as i`m a kitchenhoods.ca range hood owner , and i believe that this purchase was the best purchase i could have made. I was looking at all this brand name range hoods, yes there is spelling mistakes on the website and on some of the manuals, but this does not mean that this company is fraudulent , to be honest i do not understand people that overspend on range hoods, the brand name on this range hood is Spagna Vetro. I got referred to them by a friend. This company has superb customer service and their customer service listen to a situation the potential customer has and they suggest what they believe is the better range hood for the situation. I also do not agree that they are prevalent on Ebay. Here is the link on their about us section just so you can see the manufacturer of their range hoods http://www.kitchenhoods.ca/range-hoods/about.php I would never buy a range hood that is very expensive , it makes no sense, these appliances are not something so special just so they can cost that much money....See More30" Bosch Flex induction paired with 12" Gas wok hob?
Comments (10)You will want to have some space between them. First, because the induction cooktop installation directions may require cabinet walls at the ends of the space under the cooktop, and second because the induction ceram glass surface needs to be relatively evenly supported on all four sides. A third reason would be to ensure that the countertop itself is adequately supported. All of these reasons could be overcome by an atypical cabinet structural design (probably involving metal support). A fourth reason could depend on whether pans on each surface might crowd one another. Note that one doesn't normally shake pans on induction cooktops (not good for the glass), whereas cooking on gas can involve more physical pan action. More room around the gas burner might be helpful in such cases. There may be manufacturers that support proximate installation, but I have never researched this. I have a 36-inch induction cooktop next to a Cooktek induction wok hob. The exposed countertop gap between them is 5 inches. To fit this configuration my hood width is 66 inches, wider than you require. Your hood, however, should ideally be sized so that given the final layout of the cooktops, there is sufficient overlap of the hot pans on each to capture the rising and expanding cooking plumes. Presence or lack of cabinets to the sides of the hood helping direct the effluent can make a difference in capture efficiency. In an island configuration with a hot pan at the edge of the induction cooktop opposite the gas burner side, I would go to a 54-inch hood. With a 48-inch hood, even on a wall, I would consider placing the pan to cook the most greasy smokey food towards the middle of the hood. kas...See Moregas or induction
Comments (10)I'm sold on induction, but it may help in your decision making to consider how and what you cook. I've heard that folks who regularly use a wok and enjoy high sear cooking like a gas cooktop. I do a lot of cooking where I appreciate a low controlled simmer, like stocks, sauces, soups, stews, chowders. Anything dairy based, liked custards, is so much easier for me to cook without fear of scalding on induction. On the other end of the spectrum, I appreciate the nearly instantaneous boil I get in the morning when I cook steel cut oatmeal or when I'm rushing at dinner to get some pasta cooked. Easy, easy clean up and safety are two other features with induction that would tip me toward spending the extra money for it. I cook every day, so over time it would be so worth it....See MoreMiele 36" KM 6370 or KM 6375 Induction Cooktop Reviews
Comments (25)It's exciting to read all these great reviews and tips! My Miele 36" induction cooktop gets installed tomorrow and I'm so excited to start playing with it. I didn't look at the Bosch but was tempted by Wolf because I liked the slightly textured surface. In the end I chose Miele ovens (I was much pickier about oven features so this was a harder decision for me) so matched the cooktop because I couldn't decide for any other reason. I still haven't bought my ventilation because I'm stumped on whether the Miele Connectivity (or whatever it's called) is worth it. Have you thought about that? I also don't have wall space to put ovens anywhere other than under the cooktop and at first I regretted this so I'm glad to read some good reasons to do so here. Being under the ventilation is a great plus! My oven doors will open the conventional way, not to the side. I made sure to get the contour line swivel handles because I think these will be nicer to use despite the lower height. I've been loving using my induction hot plate in our temporary kitchen and can't wait to get to work on the big new one. Will post a review once I've had a chance to play around with it a bit....See Moredodge59
