What a great tip and equally important is another example of Moen's great customer service and warranty. I read about them over and over and continue to hear great things. More people should be aware of Moen's willingness to help, to give parts and if necessary, if parts cant be had, to replace the fixture completely. Oh-I forgot to say, we have a single-pipe system. The building (5 stories, 2 apts each floor, plus a super's in the basement) was built in the 1920s, and we do not have a recirculating pipe.

Interesting. Let us know what you find out. We have the same faucet. I've replaced the pulldown head once, and I'm wondering if it's time to do that again due to a little drippage from the stream head when the spray is on. Always worried that when I need something they won't have parts for it any longer- haven't looked to see if it's still in production.

If you want quick and easy, replace the cartridge. You can change the cartridge in 10 minutes. Changing the valve? Open up the wall, cut the copper, take out the old, after three or four tries you'll fit in the new, then resolder without lighting the framing on fire, then having to resolder one joint because of the leak, then realizing you cooked an o-ring when you overheated the valve body when soldering, then... Okay, it really won't be that bad. But it does tend to trend down that avenue when you have guest arriving.
