Almost complete bathroom remodel

My master bathroom remodel is almost complete - i still need to add the finishing touches and I have the leaky shower, but other than that its all done. I have posted the photos on pinterest. It includes two "before" photos as well. You can see we used to have a tub/shower combo which we removed for a walk-in shower. Our second bathroom is large enough to have a separate tub and shower in it. The size of the bathroom is roughly 7' x 11' and it has a door leading to a small patio outside that we had to keep. I would say the best thing i purchased was the panasonic heater/fan/light thing. the fan is so quiet and the heater is awesome. It was around $250 on amazon. Through the advice of this forum I also bought a sensor switch for the fan. The most useless item (to me) is the rain shower head. I never use it, but my husband loves it. I also have a folding teak bench in the shower that i love for shaving and hosing down my always filthy 2 year old.

The original remodel budget was $15,000, but i seem to never be able to do anything on a budget and spent $27,000. Luckily we live in a neighborhood with housing values high enough to support my continual over spending.

Follow Ups to Questions 2: The entire construction process was probably 8 weeks elapsed. There were holidays, weather problems, you name it. The actual schedule was bizarre. A week or so of demo in March, an unexpected 6 month hiatus, then back again for November & December and final details in January. The time after demo turned out to be a good thing as we changed many items and even the actual design - all for the better. The room dimensions are a bit irregular. The area of marble floor is 7ft x 7ft. The tub is 3 ft wide, so the room more or less is 7x10 (not including the little alcoves at the head of the tub and shower areas). The ceiling height is a little over 9 ft. The JVI light is "large" and the bottom is probably at 6'9" or so (we made sure all contractors' heads cleared). We removed several links of chain to get the right height. Not sure the large light would work with an eight foot ceiling looking at it now. One of the other similar styles would do the trick though. As for the Amma, I didn't notice the slope to be all that different - but I might not have been paying attention. This only a 66" tub - not a lot of room. What I did notice is the curved back. For me, the flat back was not as comfortable as the curve. The other things that I looked for in my search were arm rests and grab bars. These two items I use every time I get in or out. I think the new paint was a wise choice :-) Your remodels turned out well. Not every remodel shows here needs to, or should be, a down-to-the-studs-reconfigure-everything-in-our-10x20-bathroom LOL! I live in a very modest and small home, and I love seeing what can be done with relatively minor changes like paint and counter, great work!

I am still working on the tile behind the vanity and toilet. I am going full height on that one wall. I added a few more pics this morning. All the hardware is Kohler Purist series in brushed nickel. The large 12"x24" tile is Daltile vibe series, techno beige, light polish. The 5/8" glass/emperador mosaic is Dune Safari mosaic, 12" sheets. The shower floor and vanity backsplash is 2"x2" tumbed Emperador dark marble in 12" sheets. The grout for the emperador is Laticrete epoxy Mocha and the main grout is epoxy Antique White. we have 1/2"x 44"x 80" panel siliconed to a narrow return; door is hinged to the wall (similar set up as in the link that pharoah posted. No clips at the junction of the 2 pieces, which I think I would have preferred. The large panel is set to the curb and wall, but the return wall is just set to the curb, and the "free" end of the large panel. It's beautiful. I must say that watching them install it, and now looking at it, it makes me nervous, but they are very reputable, got multiple references for this company, and the guy was so meticulous, watching him work made me smile. We have bumped it a bit just to make sure it's ok, while still warrantied, so to speak. g_hgray- the setup you mention I believe leaves a bit of a "lever arm" with the outside corner just sitting out there, which would make me even more nervous than I am about my set-up. Can you see if that is a reasonable install, if a good company would do the same?

I love your new bathroom and your shower is spectacular. I hope they figure out a way to fix the leakiness. Just curious about the jump in budget - was it that all the items you bought were higher or was it one item in particular?

Also, what tile did you use on the floor and walls. They are really beautiful!

Nice job - it looks great!

I agree - perhaps my favorite thing in our newly remodeled master bath is the Panasonic heater/fan/light. It has really helped with all this very cold weather we've been having!

Your space looks really nice and your layout is similar to what my daughter wants to do. (Only her room is more like 7 by 8 feet and I wonder if we can fit everything.)
What is the size of your shower. How wide is your vanity. I suppose the shower and toilet sit on the 11 foot wall, but it looks more like 9 feet?
Your new bathroom looks more spacious with the new layout.

I'm another who refuses to join Pinterest. I could still see skinny bits where the obnoxious "join" sign didn't cover the whole photo. Looks very nice from what I could see.

Really nice! What a big change. I get what you're saying- my significant other's only requests were a rain head shower and a warm bathroom. I doubt it's going to that big a deal to me, but whatever, it's his bathroom.
