Electrolux Wall Ovens -- Oven Cabinet Width
Comments (9)You NEED that extra 1/8". The oven actually measures that amount side to side at the widest point. If you have face frames, it's not a problem, but if you have full overlay or frameless, this could cuase a problem. btw, this is not the measure of the opeing, it's what the oven needs side to side to fit. The opening is actually smaller and you have some wiggle room there. See that little tiny bit of trim? it sticks out 1/16th of an inch on each side. Other than at this point, the oven measures exactly 30" side to side. With this it is 30 1/8" I took this picture a while ago, you are not the first person to ask this....See MoreBosch, KitchenAid, Electrolux or (?) wall oven
Comments (23)Have had a 27" 500 series Bosch wall oven for almost three years and have been pleased in all respects. Quiet fan and large oven capacity for the size. The oven light goes off each time the door is closed so it has to be turned back on if you want it to stay on during baking. That is a pain, but not a major issue. I do have to rotate items once for even baking. If you want items to brown, convection must be used. For convection, Bosch says to reduce temp by 25 degrees and that has worked for me. Overall, the oven has the feel of a quality product. Although not metal, knobs still look like new. I think they'll hold up nicely long term. I don't tempt fate by using the self-clean feature. The interior walls seem to clean easily so I'm OK with that. I had planned to special order an easy glide rack, but the standard racks are hefty and glide nicely so have decided to stay with standard. You might search online to see if you can still special order. Compare prices through different vendors. Of course this review does not speak to possible issues with current models. I've known a few people who have had durability problems with KA ovens and would not go with them again. I feel your pain going through that headache of appliance shopping. Comments (4)Sorry weedmeister, I guess I forgot to check off that I wanted any responses sent to my e-mail, so all this time I thought no one had responded to me. Our 36" height counter will have granite installed on it. The cabinet to install/surround the 30" wall oven would be 33" width. Thanks for clarifying that the 4 1/2" toekick area was a maximum and not a minimum. My builder tells me that he thinks he could make it work, but it will definitely be only a couple inches off the ground. The alternative is to change the kitchen design and put the oven to the left of the cooktop where my 33" wide drawer base was going and move the drawers under the cooktop instead. (I'll lose one drawer and they would now be only 30"). Not sure of this compromise and not sure if the oven will look weird sitting to the left of the cooktop, though it may be easier to put things into the oven directly from the cooktop with this configuration. I'm still plugging away, but at this point my builder is at a standstill until appliances are picked so electrician can come in. Any other thoughts appreciated....See MoreElectrolux wall oven-died (again) after self-clean
Comments (15)I feel for you and agree that the idea of not using it to solve the problem is ludicrous. It's a feature that is on the oven and you paid for so it should work. I finally got a new GE Profile induction/convection range 1 1/2 years ago. I had never had self clean for all my adult life and wished for it. Now that I have it I am afraid to use it. I think back a few years ago when many of the range and oven controls were manual knobs, the heat wasn't a problem. Now it is indeed frying circuit boards on numerous brands. I went an entire year without using it. Finally after a nasty grease spill at Christmas I got brave and used it. Nothing bad happened. Mine has the option to use it for up to 5 hours but as low as 3 hours. I did do 5 but won't do that again. I will try 3 hours. I am still afraid to use it when I want and will leave it till my oven is too hard to clean manually. I know the latest Samsung induction/convection range does not offer it. It has steam clean instead. That's great for small messes but I don't think it will work real well on a bad mess in the oven....See Morekelsold
