Shower base refinishing options?

Hey all,

A few years ago I installed a 34x60 heavy duty shower base...then 12x12 tiles up the walls to the crown molding. Tile looks great, but the white base looks cheap. I selected the fiberglass base as the tiled base I removed was a leaker and I wanted waterproof. I've looked at the new bases designed to be tiled over, but am trying to avoid tearing the bottom wall tile out to remove the old & install the new base. I started thinking that there's nothing wrong with the current base, it just sticks out as white & cheap looking against the beautiful tile. I've been thinking about coating the fiberglass base...just can't find any coating options. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to change the color? I don't think tiling over it is an option...I've got a slight movement when moving in & out of the shower...like spoungy even though it's like 1/2" thick FRP. Thanks in advance...Mike
