I have the overall language set to English, no problem with it there. This is a problem in the area of the clock, date and time. It is the calendar that has a different language in it. I will check setting for the calendar and see if the is something there.

I found the calendar and Gregorian is checked, but there is only 3 languages, no english. I will keep looking.

For a setup problem with a new device, I think you'll always get a better answer by going directly to the supplier. I wouldn't predict a high likelihood of success from looking around on the internet or asking in a forum. Why do either when you don't have to?

Apple has great support. If you live near an Apple Store, go there, the folks are extremely helpful. If not, you can get the help you need from Apple's website.

Using a different device, like a PC, go to the Apple website and click around in Support until you're given the option for either a phone call (there can be a wait for that) or a Chat session. For this, I'd maybe opt to do it by Chat. You'll probably have your problem fixed in 5 minutes. If you have other questions you can ask them too.

I wouldn't say so, you seem to be a regular and that's the habit. You're like anyone else, new things are new and unfamiliar.

(I'm not too proud to admit that with my wife's ipad, I've used both Apple support and the local Apple store a few times myself to figure out how/where specific things are done. I do have THAT kind of experience to share.)

I called support today and it took around 20 minutes to get in. The tech who helped me had the same problem finding a way to change the language on the calendar so the date can be set. She did the routine that I had done and English was in the box but was whited out. She tried a lot of things then went to international and English was checked, but there was a list of countries. I tried United States and it did not work. I suggested we click on another language, go to the home page and see if that worked, Spanish was on it. Then we went back and set it to English and it worked.
