Sharron, it was faucets4cheap.com, oddly enough! I called them to report a problem with one part and talked to them about my trim options - they mentioned the restocking fee, although I might be able to wriggle my way out of it if I tried, I suppose. Their prices are so great that it's almost worth it to pay the restocking, though. The other question I have (which I forgot to mention in the first post): do I even need a volume control valve? We always use the shower on full power, so I'm not worried about controlling the flow. However, from what I understand, the thermostatic valve can't stop the water from flowing so you have to have a volume control just to turn it on and off. Correct? Argh!

dcward89, I hate to be a pain, but your fix seems to be what I'm looking for, so I have another question. Some I've seen have a "T" shape, some are magnetic, some are adhesive, and some just set in the space. How about yours? And, forgive me, but if it isn't too much trouble, would you mind searching your amazon orders and tell me the exact product name or number so I can be sure to find it? Thank you so much!

Your shower valve setback is likely not accurate and set to far out. What you have is an attempt to disguise it. As well the valve seems a little out of plumb, or the shower walls are not plumb. The fix is to reset the valve, sometimes we can open the wall behind the valve and adjust it w/o removing it and thats on the plumber. Or negotiate a discount and get a written wrrty that the trim wont leak into wall cavity, as that could soon create wet lumber that dries out between showers and causes movement and cracked tile walls in a worst case scenario. - best
