xp limited user accounts question

We have XP pro at work (a library). I was under the impression a limited user account prevented users from changing the programs on a computer--for example, they shouldn't be able to remove my AVG--which someone did on at least one of them. nor should they be able to download programs. Am I mistaken?

No you are correct you have to change the permissions on the account so that is forbidden. Make sure you have not just added too many options in the extra users group ie:you have not just copied all the rights you have to them.

yes set up true limited user or guest accounts with NO permissions granted period.

This limited Account can be gotten around as if it didn't exist. Jannaz I sent you an email on how it was done and
how to block it from happening again.

Thanks to the rest of you--I wasn't aware you could grant permissions and I'll bet that's what happened. Whatta mess.
