Following the guidelines here, Greengardener! 1.) Seeds - Check! Yep! Got 'em 2.) Containers - Check! Ready to go! 3.) Tablet and pen - Check! Laptop is ready to go! 4.) Duct tape - Check! Got that too! Both white and siver! 5.) Sharp utility knife - Check! Sissors at hand! 6.) Permanent marker - Check! Sharpie is ready 7.) Soil/growing medium - Um, um, um...... Bag's open, all soft and fluffy! Rose of Sharon are seeds waiting for me to take my "Leap of Faith". They got wet last week and have been in the fridge ever since. They are begging for me to sow them... I need to shut them up today!! I have a 2# deli container filled with soil mix, some nice holes cut into the bottom edges. Soaked it down with the sprayer to check the drainage... One baby, two baby, three baby seeds, press 'em down a bit. Almost done... now get that container outside and then into the cold frame it goes.... NOT! Well, hells bells! What the heck?!? The dang door's frozen SHUT! I hear a quiet voice.... "Well Momma, why don't ya get the hair blower on that freakin' door and get us the heck out of this heat?" Well ya little sh%t... the hair dryer broken! One more word out of you and it's into the freezer ya go! and later that day.... "Hey Mom? When are we going to have that stuff in the freezer for dinner? I want to go to Corey's house for dinner that night!"

Everybody's been so busy! I've been working on putting up a greenhouse, which includes clearing and leveling a spot, cutting trees and branches, driving rebar, making a frame, and the like, plus gathering seeds(it's going to be a tropical-type greenhouse) for when it gets time to sow them, and also putting up one for my mother, since she bought the materials for mine(sweet, huh? lol). I've also been researching, potting up cuttings I've received(12 so far this week) and Hoya seeds from Sue(THANK YOU!!!), and caring for 4 children under the age of 9(not to mention the husband who sometimes ACTS like he is 9 LOL). And I have still found time to come on here and read all these great posts! Oh, almost forgot to mention the rearranging of the Hoyas- I put up a new shelf in the master bath that gets lots of good light, so I've been moving and rearranging all 80 or so plants to put the Hoyas where they will do the best and the rest where they will survive. Sorry, but the Hoyas get that prime real estate! I do keep most of my plants in the house(which ultimately means a lot more work for me) because I live in an apartment complex with a LOT of latch-key children and unsupervised children, and when I first moved here I had planted a lot outside and had several pots sitting outside in my flower bed, but they were DESTROYED by the neighborhood kids and a couple of adults. I'm not risking it with my Hoya babies! I have a really nasty cactus and a large agave with huge terminal spines out there now. Is that mean? lol I really can't wait to move onto our property, and how sad is it that I put up a greenhouse before a real house? My addiction is showing!!!

Thanks everyone! Royalty free music from the internet. :-) FOAS, as I said, rotisserie makes the best roasted anything. The problem is ovens with rotisserie are very expensive and all rotisseries have a fixed position relative to the heat source, they are not adjustable which makes it not ideal for cooking. As you know, it is a pain to broil a chicken in you oven. You need to keep turning the bird and it still can;t be cooked evenly. This contraption is to solve those problems. It is working out very nicely. Roasting a chicken in front of a fire place makes a very memorable dinner for invited friends. One of the few roasted chickens I have tried out, this one is yuzu flavored with my favorite sides, i.e. wild rice with chestnuts, wild rice stems and golden cauliflower. Yes, wild rice stem is a vegetable you can get in Asian stores. Tastes like asparagus with a nutty aroma. Oh, Teresa, thank you thank you and thank you for the wonderful wild rice! dcarch

He's not a bad guy....just lazy but ONLY when it comes to doing things he doesn't like. If it's something like yard work or cooking he'll do it all day long! I guess hinting just doesn't work with him. You have to be direct and to the point. You have to tell him what you wanthim to do. COmplaining about it or making reference to it is pointless. Once I started giving out direct orders he started getting on it. I was just worried I'd look like Wifezilla if I started barking orders left and right but it would appear that's what gets him hopping.
