How to Move Itunes to Another Computer?

There must be an easy way to do this, but from everything I have looked into, I can't find it! People purchase new computers every day, right? What is the most efficient way for moving your itunes account/songs to another computer? Ours is currently on our oldest computer and it is not worth keeping, but we can't figure out a way to do it without moving them one by one . . . . . .

I just did it using the itunes built in back up feature and burned the entire Itunes lib. to disk.

Loralee, that has happened to me several times, I am blaming a herky jerky finger sometimes, and sometimes when I play cards, the task bar has a mind of it's own, so when these things happen, that don't happen often, and I am staring and wondering What happened? I write the solution down in a little book I have, so if it happens again, at least I don't have to come into the forum to find the answer. I know most of the time it is my own fault, and I feel somewhat bereft about that, I am a senior, and should know better by this time. regardless, I always appreciate the help provided by the great gang here, and know it will always be available. 1) Click Help in Firefox on the old computer. 2) Select Troubleshooting Information. 3) In the Application Basics section, click the Open Folder button at the Profile Folder line. 4) Copy all the files and folders to an empty thumbdrive or whatever you have. Do steps 1, 2, and 3 on the new computer. Paste, copy, replace, whatever you want to call it, the files saved to the thumbdrive into that profile folder on the new computer. Close and reopen Firefox and it should pick up the user profile into action.

Need to know how you are trying to accomplish this in order to give advice. Are you trying to do this by: 1) inserting the card in a slot in the computer (or a card reader connected to the computer)?, or 2) connecting the camera directly to the computer with a cable? P.S.: whatever the approach, I doubt that it has anything to do with a setting on the camera.

I've linked to a pretty good article right here on how to transfer iTunes. You basically have to export your music library to an XML file, change the paths on it to be appropriate for your new computer, then re-import the library with your new edited XML file. They also link to a software program that can help you with it.

Can't you just save the music folders to an external HD and transfer those to the new PC. Seems like that is how I did it last time.

If you've purchased any music or movies that are protected, make sure you deauthorize your computer (under Store in the menu). I think Itunes now sells music unprotected (not sure about movies). In the past, the files were protected and you could copy them to a certain number of ipods and a certain number of computers. If you change computers too many times without deauthorizing, you won't be able to play them on the new computer.
