heirloom junkie: there's nothing that grosses me out in the compost except I won't put bread in there (in homage to annpat) or any type of poop. Other than that, I rip up all boxes (cereal, frozen lunches, any/all cardboard)rather than recycling them and junk mail and envelopes without the window plastic stuff. Even Diet Coke cartons...I AM an addict. I used them for lasagna beds last year and they did break down nicely under the other stuff I threw on top. So I figure eventually we eat mostly everything I buy that isn't metal or glass. RE: nuts (in the pile, that is) DH eats tons of peanuts in the shell. They of course go into the compost but break down very slowly. Last year one of the grandkids said, Grandma, your growing peanuts? Cool! Good lesson on composting for the little dumpling. Oh, don't compost dumplings, they're like bread :)

One of the problems is that this forum is used by both experienced and new rose growers. H. Kuska comment: We have an "Organic Rose Growing Forum" perhaps we need a "New Rose Growers Forum". Also, a "keep it simple" approach may actually make the possibility of failure much higher than a realistic approach and also introduce the possibility of serious health risks to the new rose gardener. Thanks, Xuan! Hey, Jose! I fertilize more frequently and at higher concentrations (half-strength) during the warm months (April through October). During the winter, I do fertilize - just very lightly. The trunks and branches will become woody with time. As far as pruning is concerned....well, I have a design in mind, and I make cuts that will encourage that design. I try not to let branches get too long or thick, particularly those that I plan on removing in the future. When I make a cut, I also try to imagine how the other branches will grow to hide or obscure the scar. Josh

I myself (having used Outlook 2007) don't know enough about these things to know whether it might be something about your recipients' mail settings or not. But if you're able to send an email successfully to yourself with the image showing inline, it might mean that something about your version of Outlook (what version is it, btw? 2003? 2007? 2010?) is triggering the removal of the image from the body of the message. But I would think if that were the case, then your recipients would at least get the notification "some images have been removed for your safety; click here to display them." Incidentally, you said you sent the test emails to yourself. I take it you viewed those messages in your offline client (Outlook). Did you also view them in your webmail to see if they displayed inline there as well? As another resource, you might want to check the Outlook forums here. I've used them in the past and have gotten good help. I did a quick search there for your issue and found two from 2010 here and here. In neither case did the OP continue the thread, so I have no idea if anything was resolved, but the answers didn't seem to encouraging. :-( But if your version of Outlook is more recent than those available at the time, there may be different settings to try, so you may wish to inquire there anyway. ???
