built in 35/36' french door refrigerator question
Comments (8)Paso, I haven't seen ratings for built-ins or other high end appliances in CR. Rather the fact that they will review luxury autos but not even upper mid level appliances has always been a beef with lots of folks. Anyway, if they did, I'm trying to imagine what they didn't like. Are you sure they were reviewing the Freedom Series? If CR did review them, kudos for finally breaking out of the shell, but I am baffled by a poor rating. I have the colums, not the FD, but it was looking at that 36" FD first that got me looking at the columns. I have had mine installed about a year and a half and they are the only appliances in my kitchen that haven't required a service call. They are so solidly built and perform beautifully. I would think that CR would love their virtually silent, energy star rated operation. Maybe they think they are too heavy or think that fully integrated is sill who-ha that no one should need or pay for. If the articulated hinge were on a sports car, they'd love it. My confidence in CR ratings and reliability reports went down substantially after I was asked to answer a couple of frustrating, poorly put together surveys for them. It has fallen even further if they think the Freedom series is a poor performer. I'd take their report with a grain of salt (or more than a grain) if I were you....See MoreHandle on Jenn Air Panel Ready French Door Fridge (JFC2089HT)
Comments (4)I was going to buy the Jenn-Air JFC2089 custom panel french door frig for our new house. However after doing some research I found that this refrigerator comes with the handles as shown on the Jenn-Air website. These handles screw into the refrigerator cabinet and the custom panels need to be cut to allow the handles to be installed through the panel and into the door. Custom handles can not be used with this model. So I opted for the KitchenAid KFC022EVBL instead. This model does not come with any handles and allows for any custom handles to be attached to the cabinet panel. I've had this frig installed for about 4 months and it's been great....See MoreLiebherr 36' French Door Refrigerator Question

Comments (2)I have a divider in my freezer bottom drawer. It is odd that you don't. I love this model. I had been waiting for it before I started my renovation because I knew it was in the works and none of the other FD fridges made me happy. I had had a SZ for 13 years before that so anything else would have been a compromise. I think I might have been one of the first orders back in the summer of 2012! We have a narrow walkway so we needed the french door. By the way, the guy at the SZ showroom said that they view the regular 36" as their best model. My one complaint about the FD is different from yours. The door shelves are less useful than on the regular model and that is a bit of a pain....See Morefriedajune
