Toad: Here's what I have done or plan to do in similar scenarios. Foyer-to-kitchen tile transition: I'd do a threshold out of tile that will coordinate with what's on both sides of it. We'll have tile throughout our kitchen, breakfast nook, mudroom and sunroom. We're going to use the same tile for all, but a different pattern in the sunroom. I'm going to end the pattern at the threshold with a row of 6x6 tiles as a border, then begin the new pattern in the other room. Outside doors: I butted the tile right up to the threshold and caulked the space. Your threshold is high enough that you might have room for a piece of shoe molding to give it a nicer edge (i.e., cover up the cut tile edge). And I'd definitely put shoe molding in front of the sidelight (in my plans, but haven't executed yet so no photos). Closet transition: I just continued the pattern on into the closet. Repaired floor: I don't know about K/K adhesion to luan, but we knocked a fist-sized hole in the floor when we were demoing the previous tile. We filled it by nailing a piece of wood on the underside of the subfloor (from the crawlspace) and filled the hole with thinset. I wouldn't worry about a little leakage. BTW, I think you're probably overkilling a bit with your plans to waterproof everything. I'd say the Ditra underlayment would be sufficient unless you're planning to run a hose in your foyer. A few wet boots aren't going to compromise your subfloor.

It turns out the bead is a metal L-bead. So after some discussion, they decided to dig out the compound and add caulking instead. It's not a perfect solution, but it already looks better than the cracked compound. One of the reasons we didn't want Schluter on the right side is we don't have it on the left. Also, the bathroom is at the top of the stairs, so you would really see all that shiny chrome glaring at you each time you walk up the stairs. (Yes, there is already Schluter on the curb, and honestly, I hate it, but I can learn to look past it if it's the only visible one.) Regarding the glass enclosure, we may need to add a door later on if there's a lot of water spray. We're getting frameless glass, so in theory retrofitting a frameless door should be doable, right?

Well the kitchen is almost done. The floor is my favourite thing! Absolutely love them! It is porcelain wood plank layed herringbone butting up against the hardwood floor. The hardwood and porcelain floors do not look the same but they do have the same tone. I think they look great together. It was hard to get a good pic because the lighting is different in the kitchen vs the hall.

Is that a wood look tile? If it is , then you will want to make sure the tile is the same thickness so no transition is needed. I don't think that is going to look that good though - it looks like the floor will cut across an island?? or is that just cabinets sitting there?? Need some different photo angles .
