Sorry to hear about the kitty Jean. I had a FIV positive cat named Ginger and I kept her with other cats that were not FIV positive but were vaccinated against it. She lived for six years, ultimately dying from a bad tooth which was successfully removed and she started to recover, but then had to be put under anesthesia again to cautertize the gum area and this time didn't come out of it and went semi-comatose. She was also not making red bood cells. My vet said I could get her a blood transfusion but the donor had to be a healthy cat from the shelter (who would lose it's life) so I said no and had her put down. The one thing is she can't be with cats not vacinated at all and that means no outdoors as you don't know who she will run into and spread the disease. Like 3CD said, I would require a positive test, or maybe even test twice before I made any decision. I've never heard of a vet that 'knows' a cat has HIV or AIDs without some sort of blood test just based on streaking on the tongue. If it was my decision to make I would get the test done. If infected I would probably put her down. I hope things work out. CT

Mike, I believe as you do that we butterfly folk try to do our best in a lot of areas. Probably a lot of us are into nature in general. I know I for one also like birds (remind me of that when they're singing and waking me up early in the morning :)) and all sorts of creatures great and small. Even moving a rock and finding a small salamander has me looking in wonder. Yes, I'm also tired of the harm done by people and sometimes wish I were Wonder Woman or someone like that who could put an end to things that aren't right. I'd like to right all of the wrongs. It's sad how many people just don't care about things. I've seen so many selfish, uncaring people I could cry. They just go along in their merry little lives seeming to not have a care in the world and I worry about something as "little" as a caterpillar. I never heard the Garth Brooks song you're referring to. Maybe I can look it up online so I can hear it or at least look up the lyrics. I can really relate to that quote from part of the song. As fast as the world is going downhill, I sometimes feel like I don't want to be a part of things. I march to the beat of my own drum and if the rest of the world doesn't like it, that's too bad. I feel like I'm the one saving things while others are destroying it. Not everyone but a lot. to do our best is all we can do! I think it was called "Changes". The theme of the song is that people doing good are often told that their efforts will make no difference and the line that moved me in the song is "I do this so the world will not change me." Sherry, I bet you're glad to be back into raising cats full force. :) Oh, and I bet your bathroom looks just wonderful. You and your husband are lucky that you tolerate each others projects. ;-) Most people would probably think that people like us are insane. lol I don't have cats or plants in my bathroom, but plants line almost every windowsill downstairs and are sitting all over our back porch. My husband used to get really upset with my quirks, but I think after almost 27 years of being together he's finally accepted that I am who I am and I won't change. I want to do some good in the world and if it means having a loaded-to-the-gills back porch and projects sitting around in the process of being finished, then that's the way it is. Btw, I can't thank you enough for all of the Tropical Milkweed seeds that you sent me. I have some really nice-looking plants! They aren't flowering yet, but I bet I'll have flowers on some of them in another few weeks. Cathy

Hi aduncan Thank you checking with me! I had a deadline for yesterday and didn't cehck the boards. I haven't signed up for notifciations too. I happened to check the boards and saw this in the first few pages. The information which you guys gave me was very useful. The installer also suggested the same thing and a IR repeater/finder so that we could use a remote in front of the TV while the setup will be hidden on the other side of the TV in the office room. We don't have a closet close by and he gave this suggestion which I liked. He suggested to add ethernet jacks in a couple of places in the house and gave me suggestions for a speaker bar to be placed on top of the TV. He said that it will be thin so I don't have to worry about the looks. He suggested using a sling box to view the video content from the DVR. But that could be used for viewing the content only on a computer not on a tv. I could go to the route of satellite connection with multiple DVRs for that. All in all, it was a great meeting. He hasn't given me the quotes yet though! I can decide what I want then.

depends on what type of connections the tv has and also the laptop, if both for example have an HDMI connection you can simply run the HDMI cable from the laptop to the tv. Some of the newer tv's come with wifi enabled so that they can pick up a signal from your home wireless router so the laptop is not needed for a direct connection. There are various options depending on the connection types available. What do you have?
