contractors - new bathroom floor etc.

We just had our bathroom floor replaced. It is an old row house, over 100 years old. They took out the subfloor & replaced, then they put down new ceramic tiles.

Our old ceramic tile floor was all cracked & was a mess.

My problem is I am not happy with the job.

The floor is not level. I told the contractor & he told me it is an old house, it is probably the joists.

I had these little rubber balls in the bathroom to show him how they roll right over to the tub, then behind the toilet. I know, sounds silly. He said the balls would probably roll in any other room in the house too.

Yeah, but I didn't just spend a fortune on any other room!

Also the one tile by the toilet was cracked. He told me it was fine, no problem. I told him I want it replaced.

He actually said, so you want us to pull the toilet, take up the tile & replace it? YES,I do! Well, they did fix it.

They also did not caulk anywhere, is that normal??

I told him inside the vanity is wet. No caulking around faucet, no caulking between backsplash & tile wall?

The vanity had to be cut & it is not the right size, but that is another story.......

Am I crazy or just stupid or are floors on a slight slant the new rage??
