I want to show you a couple mock ups I did for Sweeby because while they're not the same space, the baths might be able to have some similarities....she had a slooped ceiling to play with so I put cabinetry into it. You have a higher slope it appears, so we could do more, but let's start with a few ideas and then I have homework for you... If you can tuck a tub into an alcove...you could tuck a toilet into one as well. So I'd like to play with that, but I really can't without specific dimensions. Can you give total dimensions and an idea what the slope is (draw a line where it begins to go down, and then give a beginning and final height). I too have issues with the long room (my closet in the master is about 10' by 15' long and it's pretty narrow for a real master suite....but if we could play with the whole space we could incorporate some ideas...say something like that back wall in sweeby's bathroom storage (window seat etc) into your master and closet...and have a spacious and fabulous room to play with. So how about giving total dimensions, slope, etc., and show me any window placement to deal with as well.

ppalm - It is too dark around here to get some good pictures, but I have this not very good shot of the shower and my husband's vanity on my computer. As you can see, we have a half wall in front of the shower. It is a little taller than normal so it would be tall enough for a towel ring. Our shower niche is on the other side of that wall. miruca - We do not have the built in shelves on both sides of the tub as shown in Summerfield's design. I think it actually would have been a bit difficult to drop the tub in on top of the granite if we had done them. In the shower we did not put in a bench and changed where the shower head is located. We put the stationary and hand held shower heads on the wall where Shummerfield has the bench and put the controls on the wall where she has the shower head. And we changed the swing direction of the shower door. We did not put a door on the toilet area. I don't really like small, enclosed toilet rooms. And we much prefer the view out those windows, which is what you see when using the toilet. And there is no wall between the toilet and my vanity. Instead, I copied mongoct's vanity and have a pull-out cabinet. I topped mine with a 12" deep upper cabinet that takes the place of a medicine cabinet.

Thank you for asking for more clarifications: This is an existing master bedroom, not an addition. The outside shape of the home on the "top" and "bottom" of the drawing page can't be changed due to property setbacks. The "right" side of the drawing currently has two patio doors that open to a 4ft wide catwalk that is around 4-5ft above ground - the house is a split entry so there are windows for the downstairs bedroom and office under that catwalk. Due to the roof design and cost to change it, we don't really want to consider pushing out the wall on the right that has the patio doors. To the "left" of the drawing on the other side of the wall of the existing bathroom is the kitchen. To the other side of the wall of closets in the bedroom and "below" the area noted as 5ft hallways in the bedroom is the opening for the split entry steps. Not shown in the drawing to the left of the kitchen and steps is the living room/great room.

I like the placement of the walk-in. It's convenient from both the bedroom and the bathroom but it is in neither. That's really great. You can do much better than hanging rods all along the perimeter though. Maybe shelves on the top and bottom walls and hanging rods on left and right walls if you need to hang that much. Or shelves on the top, hanging on the left, a chair in the bottom right corner with a bachelor's chest with a lamp on it and a mirror hanging above it by the door for storage of underwear and socks. I also like the toilet room at the front of the bathroom so you don't have to walk through the whole room every time you need to go. You'll access that about five times as often as the shower so that's a good choice. I would put the door on the short wall across from the toilet though. It makes no sense to have it open right where someone might be standing at the sink. And some of the convenience is lost by having to make a 90 degree turn to access it. Have it open out just in case. If someone falls or is crouched down getting sick, you'll want access. Two vanities is nice. All told this is the nicest ensuite-WIC layout I've seen posted.
