Instant hot water dispenser
Comments (13)We just installed our second Insinkerator instant hot water heater. We've had one in our main kitchen sink for years (maybe 10? at least 5) with no problems. Just put in a bar sink in our pantry and put a second one in there for tea (and instant simple syrup for cocktails) - which seemed like a ridiculous indulgence but with all the $ we spent on the cabinets not so much. This area is quite small and narrow and there was an issue with space. There's also a garbage disposal - had to work to make sure everything would fit but it did. The first one, we bought maybe the second cheapest model from HD, and the one we just bought was similar. The big price differentiators seem to be 1) adding filtered cold water and 2) fancy spouts. We opted for the simple spout with a red dot on it, which helps people know what it is (we have a lot of guests). Obviously we've been more than happy with ours....See MoreConfused about Instant hot/ cold/ filtered - Please guide me
Comments (20)Kinetico RO.....Highly recommend the K5W unit....the one with the "water-on-water" storage tank, which I believe is Kinetico exclusive. Much superior to their own or anyone else's air-bladder tanks. Uses line water-pressure for delivery so no drop-off in flow rate from full to empty. Also refills with zero back-pressure so replenishment is much faster and with much less wasted water. I've had two of them at different locations for more than a year. 2.7 gallons capacity. Flows about 1.2 gallons per minute at my 65psi line pressure. Refills from empty in under an hour. Far superior to previous (or current) air-bladder tank. Worth every penny of the extra in terms of convenience IMHO. (Had previous Kinetico RO units for 18 years with zero problems. Responded to their exchange-discount offer.) Kinetico is high-end supplier but they absolutely do hold up their end of the bargain in my experience. They did everything. I did nothing....See MoreInstant Water Chiller vs. French Door fridge with water
Comments (9)Thanks for your comments lsandler and smarge! lsandler--Sounds like the Evercold is like our stand alone water cooler (which I can't wait to get rid of)--it also is very cold but not icy cold which is fine with me. Is your unit under the sink?? If so, do you notice the noise? smarge- How did you decide on Everpure? Did someone recommend it or did you decide on your own after doing research? If you have your Everpure installed in the next couple of months, could you let me know how you like it? I would really appreciate it! I totally agree with you about the water on the fridge as a potential problem. The more bells and whistles something has-the more likely something will break! I am wondering why you expect your SZ to have problems?? My next door neighbor has had a 42" side by side now for five years and has had no problems. She loves it and it looks great. I am thinking the french door style (and I don't think SZ has one) but nothing is set in stone yet so that idea may change. Right now I am in the research mode trying to narrow down my choices before I start shopping around in person....See Morewater filter options for pot filler
Comments (3)I am in the process of installing an aquasana (http://www.aquasana.com/product.cfm?ID=27) Rhino EQ-300 in the basment. This is a whole house system I select becuase my wife had to have a pot filler but likes bottled water. This seemed to be the best solution and resolved the two lever instant hot (one hot/one cold) problem. I think it will work out great. I will post pictures when done. OH - They currently have a special for $675 - what deal. I am just a homeowner and have nothing to do with the company ~ Cheers...See Moretnsongbird
