GE Cafe Range Hood fan noise

Got my GE Cafe range hood in April. On the highest fan speed the noise is very, very loud, exponentially higher than the other fan speeds. Had the GE service person come. He agreed there was a problem but wouldn't touch it because he said that since GE didn't install it, he wasn't allowed to do anything. Anyone have a problem with a particularly noisy range hood fan speed? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated including thoughts about an appliance service company that won't work with an appliance under warranty.

Most abnormally loud fan noise is due to faulty installs---which comes under your installer's warranty, not the manufacturers. Your installer should have been there when the service rep came so they could put their heads together. Fixing the problem is his issue. If you can't get him back out to diagnose, then you may have to pay for another HVAC person to diagnose the issue.

My installer came back and removed the fan from the range hood and it was determined that the fan cage is warped so the fan doesn't spin true, thus the abnormally loud noise. This time it is the manufacturer's responsibility to honor the warranty.

I am new here and I'm bumping debbie's post because I am about to purchase ge cafe line for our remodel and hope to learn about the cafe hood from someone who has one. I can't see one because no instore ge cafe display has the hood only the venting micro. BTW - Debbie what did you eventually get? Help! GE Cafe owners: Kobe hood for a GE Cafe range?

I may be a little late, but we just had a Kobe hood installed over our GE Cafe. Love it. It is a model that actually sits inside the cabinet above, so all you see is a 2" "rim" coming out the bottom. It works great and looks great too - matches the stainless and since you don't see much of it, it doesn't clash at all.

GE Cafe Range all gas convection fan question

We've had our range for a couple of months and noticed in the manual that the convection fan is not suppose to come on until the preheat temp is reached. Our convection fan turns on as soon as you hit start in one of the convection modes. Can someone else check on an all gas Cafe to see if the convection fan starts right away or waits until the set temp is reached. Thanks.

I have the GE Cafe Dual Fuel with the electric oven. The noise from the fans (both convection fan and internal oven fan) is fairly low, as in gentle whirring. I too was concerned about potential noise issues prior to my purchase, but I liked the look and feel of this stove. I am very pleased with it so far. I don't know how the other all gas model behaves.
