I find that my treadmill time goes by faster and easier when there's something I can "do" while I'm walking/jogging. Some people can't manage to read while exercising, but I do. That really helps. If I had the space to put the treadmill in the same room as the TV, you bet I'd use it while watching videos or shows. I'd NEVER sit down to watch TV if I could be moving on something. A mini-trampoline or even just sitting on a Pilates ball can help with keeping some part of you active (even if it's just the abs) while you otherwise watch TV or play games. Glad it worked for you! It just makes sense, doesn't it?

A standard service drop line from the pole to the house has two twisted pairs to provide two lines. They make telephone cables that have 750 or more twisted pairs but again, the fact that both your landlines ring in succession has nothing to do with the wiring. Most people are only familiar with the standard telephone book that has people listed in alphabetical order by last name, but the phone companies also have telephone listings that are listed alpha/numerically by county,city & street address. Most ppl using a telemarketing service prefer to solicit by using the street index. In that way they can solicit a small section of the community that could be serviced easily by a follow up rep in a day, thus saving communiting time if you opt to accept whatever service is being offered. The telemarketing person you speak to on the phone has no real idea who they are talking to of where you may live. The supervisor inputs a list of leads or the parameters for a neighborhood canvas and the operator just sits in the chair and hits a button to start the dialer. When the phone answers they read information off the screen to you, and if you opt to want more info they have a long list of Q & A that they can respond back to you. The moment the call ends they hit a button to end the call and the auto dialer selects & dials the next number, which in this case is the next number listed by street address.

We never use our formal dining room nor our formal living room. Our kitchen has a table in it and is probably about the size of your kitchen and dining room combined. An eat-in kitchen would be a great idea for you. Use the dining room as part of the kitchen and then open up the whole area to either the current living or family room so you can see what's going on in that room from the kitchen (open concept). Don't live now for re-sale later! (unless resale is imminent) Use the extra room as living or dining room, whichever you will actually use. Hardly anybody I know ever uses the formal dining room, but we all have eat-in kitchens. Since neither room has special plumbing etc, for resale it can be staged however you like. Just make it what you need for now. In my dreams, I open up my kitchen to the dining room and put in a 12 foot long island with an angle and an overhang for stools. I would keep my table in it an maybe put a little tiny conversation area at one end if I had space. I woul never miss my formal dining area, except that it looks pretty if anybody ever did go in there..

Is faxing even possible over the 'bundled or ISP provided VOIP' landlines? On the rare occasion that I have to support fax or modem related issues, the VOIP connection is not what is used, it a line on POTS (plain old telephone service) consisting of twisted pair connections which are compatible with the modem in most fax machines. Chisue, during the insane days preceding our son's wedding, I dropped and broke my cell phone leaving the tux shop. My phone was insured and I had an identical replacement that I only needed to slip my sim card into in 22 hours. I have great service with my cell phone when I am on the phone at home anyway. I have noticed that certain areas have a weaker signal and inside Wal-Mart, I have no signal at all. No idea on security or whether calls can be made during the eclipse. When someone calls and wants to discuss a private matter, I have no issues with stating that I am out in public and will call back when I'm free to talk. Usually, when I am out, I only answer when it's my husband calling or if there is something going on with the kids. Everyone has the option to leave a voice mail.
