orientation of couch, TV and wall...opinions?

I need to figure out the layout of my great room, where the TV will be sited and the couch, etc.

I think it's preferable to come into a room and not first see the back of a couch, but rather to have the couch face you with the coffee table in front, and art on the wall behind.

This is a building issue because the length of the wall that is to the right of the door, where I want to hang the TV, is in play.

If I hang the TV on the wall to the right of the door, the wall will need to be lengthened a bit and I lose a little of the openess to the kitchen. But at least the TV isn't the first thing you see when you walk into the room.

I'm not too fond of a layout that reveals first, the back of a couch and a TV beyond. I know that fireplaces and windows sometimes dictate placement of a couch, but they're not an issue here.

A subjective issue for sure, but I'd like your opinions.
