TonySak, thank you, I didn't know the cleaning would be easier. Since we can do an external blower, that's a plus in that direction. I think that is one we are looking at right now, the Broan Elite 619004EX. The other option is one by Best, model KEX4236SS. There's a big difference in price, so I'm trying to figure out if it is worth it. alexamd: Thanks for the info. May I ask how often you use your indoor grill, and what the weather is like in the winter? We live in upstate NY and having to run outside to grill with 2' of snow on the deck isn't so appealing. And I love grilled food (veggies, shrimp, chicken, etc). AND the option of using the griddle pan over it is inticing. Having said all that, I just plugged all the #s into a spreadsheet, and the bigger hood + additional cost of the grill unit puts it $2000 over the "plain old" 36" 6-burner with slightly smaller hood......trying to decide if its worth it. I've lived without it all these years and can use a grill pan if I have to.....but...you know how it is when tempted by all these nifty appliances!

I have no data or experience with any of these, but I have to speculate that a $350 power pack and a 1200 external blower are very likely not equal in flow rate, and that an external blower that had the same performance as the $350 power pack would be considerably less money. I have no idea what exactly a warranty is covering on a liner, weld failure? I see no functional reason why any quality external blower shouldn't be used with a liner given some match between the blower interface and the duct from the liner. I would expect that Broan/NuTone would sell something compatible. But given your plea, I suggest contacting Trevor. With respect to the quote: "Either an interior, in-line or remote blower may be used with Prestige hood liners and power pack inserts. Other blowers CANNOT be substituted." I am having a hard time thinking up an "other" blower option that is not one of "interior, in-line or remote." kas

I have the UP27M30SB with the iQ6 in-line blower. I like it for the most part but it's still loud when I turn it on high even with the supposed to be the most quiet iQ6 blower. I think the only way to have a more quiet blower is to have an external blower which my house doesn't allow me to. I do love how easy to clean, I also put the baffles in the DW and wipes the inside with clorox wipes, so easy and so clean! My old OTR microwave has mesh filters that's not DW safe and oh boy, those were a nightmare! @lascatx, I also thought about switching out the halogen bulbs to LED but I thought I read it somewhere that not all models can use LED bulbs, please let me know if yours can use LED bulbs!
