cutting enameled top for vessel sink??

I don't know if this is the best forum for this question but hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction. I have a cute little antique kitchen cabinet with an enameled metal top that I'm hoping to use in my guest bath with a vessel sink. So far, everyone (trim guys, plumber,...) on our construction site seems reluctant to attempt to cut it for fear of it cracking/chipping. Has anyone had any experience cutting something like this and could offer some advice? It's not very thick, and I'm expecting to slightly recess the vessel sink.

Thanks for any help/suggestions!
