Not sinister, but like TI is an example of a "big boy" given up on a market. Almost as bad as AT&T and consumer communications... all that's left is the rather successful iPOD (think that is what is called in wireless communications - and with a touch screen I believe). AT&T is a shadow of itself, he-l it was once a bigger employer than Walmart : ( My comment that may have started this was my shopping for a new Laptop (not a notebook this time, considering a 17.3" screen - non touch) and checking on Dell and HP to see if they were still in that business. Seems both have recognized, perhaps soon enough to survive, that personal computers with a mouse and keypad are going into history. I connected this with some lament that I can't now quantify, that Microsoft sales of Windows 8, indeed computer OS, is way down. This lead me to comment that we may all live (even an old guy like me) to see the end of MS, if not that then a much smaller and less profitable company. Given Gates and others at the top of MS are working hard to give their money away before the $#&% government gobbles it up with inheritance tax. Those folks know that will result in all their hard work and creativity being wasted by people who specialize in that game. Would I sell my MS stock if I had some? Yes, but as all that I hold is in mutual funds I don't have any control, I just hope the fund managers have a brain.

This MS August update disaster is causing issues with Win 7.1, too. I had to do some pretty fancy footwork to get Win Updates to work after deleting 2982791. I finally succeeded by accessing it through "Restore Hidden Updates"...allowing a hidden update to load. Then, MS in its infinite wisdom...automatically installed the replacement for 2982791. I later uninstalled 2970228 and went through the whole ugly procedure again...only this time I had to remove the hidden update that I'd previously installed. Don't ask! GRRRRRR MS finally installed 2993651 from the restore page and life has been back to normal ever since. I should add that no repair tool worked trying to get Win Updates to work/repair itself. The repair tool ran and reported the Update tool was repaired. It wasn't. And I went round and round with that issue for a while until I just finally worked every trick I could think of with the Restore Hidden Updates temporarily repairing the problem. Currently...peace reigns! It's going to be very interesting to see what September brings. Anne

I’m hoping you see this and let me know what happened for you I see this happened to you maybe clear back in 2010. The same thing just happened to me in January. Scratches everywhere. I spent thousands. I’m horrified. I just don’t see how this is ok to have brand new windows all scratched up. Right now it is dark days and so I can only imagine what my brand new windows will look like when the sun comes out. This just is not right.

Gravity causes the water to accelerate as it falls, so with that (approx.) 8 foot drop, the water is falling considerably faster at the bottom than at the top. As you see, the flow narrows quite a bit by the time it drops half way and then molecular adhesion/surface tension is overcome. An uninterrupted sheet of water from top to bottom is not reasonably achieved here. A rain shower effect might be to your liking, instead.
