I keep getting popups that tell me that my computer may be infected and it asks me to install WinAntiVirus PRO. How do I remove this program? I googled it and a bunch of removal sites come up, but who do I trust?

I would suggest you download and install the AVG anti spyware program linked below. After the install reboot into safe mode by tapping the F8 button repeatedly as the computer starts. Once you are in Windows Safe mode run the AVG anti spyware program doing a full scan. Do not attempt to open any other programs while the scan is being done. Follow the instructions after the scan to remove what is found.

I have not found any Anti-Virus of Anti-Spyware programs that detect and successfully remove WinAntiVirus. At least not when I dealt with a PC that was infected a few months ago . It was the first malware that caused Micro Trend's House Call to lock up on me. I eventually used the manual method described on Symantec's Web site. A bit of a task, but it does work.
