Trueform Concrete sinks

Hi Everyone. I'm in the planning stages of renovating our powder room and contemplating a floating concrete sink below a window. It will be a 30"l x 21"w x 7"h and will be mounted with steel sink brackets sold with the sink on Trueform Concrete's website (manufactured in NJ). The window is 23" wide. Anyone with experience with this type of installation and/or this company? Thanks for your advice.

I am getting bids for 3 concrete sink/vanities for my bathrooms...the integrated sinks on a longish vanity as pictured in some of Trueform's pix. I don't know about Trueform as a company but here in California, there is usually a concrete "guy", "company" who makes these in every area.

My concrete guy does it all custom and adds shells, brass gears, flecks of gold, all sorts of stuff to the counter/sinks which personalize them. Since I live near the beach this is appealing to me...the shells and abalone flecks.

I believe they are quite a bit more expensive than say quartz counters, but are sturdy and look great. I'm just not sure if this is too trendy a thing or what.

Did Trueform suggest this mounting with steel brackets? Concrete is very heavy and needs substantial support.

Hi Hollie, thanks for your reply. I've done some concrete research and there is much to choose from in CA. I'm in NC and have maybe 3 companies to chose from. They all do custom as well, but Trueform has a good pricepoint for a large "generic" sink. Yes they suggested steel brackets and they have been very responsive to my questions. I feel a little uncomfortable with the shipping and that's why I'm wondering if anyone else has worked with them long distance. I'd love to hear how your project progresses. I think concrete is beautiful.

We purchased the item from Lowe's, will post photos when remodel completed. One problem we discovered is many tops have pre-drilled faucet holes, we wanted wall-mounted faucets. - Wayfair has an offering also (photo), but not really a modern vibe - Also can have them 'fabricated' by bath renovators accustomed to working with stone/quartzite products, which are both costly (appx $3-4,000) and heavy.

I wish I had one in my utility room even though there is a cement one in the detached garage. I am going to install one in the utility room, but it will probably be a single and sadly, plastic. Sometimes there are things that need to be cleaned that just won't fit in the kitchen sink and I don't want to use the bathtub. The "pup" missed a couple of points on the efficiency. First, a double sink allows you to have two rinses. You save a lot of water that way. The first one gets the rough stuff out and the second one is a polish. Normally, on wash day you start with hot water and whites. You move on to light colors and the water is cooler. You finish with bright and then dark. This is all with the same washer-load of soapy water changing the rinse if necessary. if the family is big, or the kids got into making mud pies, you might change the wash water. It is an especially efficient way to wash clothes for a small family compared to running the washer for partial loads so things can be separated.

You can get a caulk gun tube of Driveway Crack Sealer, it's gray and rubbery when it dries. Fill all the cracks. It won't last forever but it will keep out the majority of the water. That small triangular part looks to be lower than the rest, you could fill it in with concrete patch so it's more level, but that's a little more involved project. You would still want to seal the cracks up with crack sealer either way.

Concrete sink for 1/2 bath laundry room combo, thoughts?

My understanding is that concrete is porous even when sealed, which in my mind makes it a poor choice for a laundry room/utility sink. Are there any other materials you might like that would work better as a bathroom/laundry room sink? Hopefully more knowledgeable will comment and offer some alternatives for you to consider.

I've seen his work, visited his studio, my contractor has inspected his stuff, all systems go.

I can't give you comfort on your concrete guy, but do they offer a warranty?

Can someone verify that a 10.25" wall mounted spout is a good choice for a free float sink dimensions 30L x 21w x 7 exterior, 20L x 12w x 5d interior. It has a 5" deck against the wall, which would put the spout reach right about at the center drain. Is that where it should be? Thanks so much for your input.
