It depends a lot on how frequently you need the A/C and what kind of budget you have. One of the portable units pictured above can be purchased for $150-250 and it should be easy to adapt it to your 4" opening. On the other hand, purchase and installation of a mini-split would be several thousand dollars, and you still need somewhere outside to put the condenser. However, a good mini-split would air condition a very large sized apartment, or even an entire house if you use multiple head units. Bruce

Hi all, I’m trying to find a replacement diverter cartridge for a shower/bath mixer that was originally installed by a reno company using parts from First Choice Warehouse (now closed). The diverter has failed and unfortunately, there’s no branding on it. Photos attached – it’s a brass diverter with: Two black O-rings 20-tooth spline stem A blue plastic cross insert on the bottom Hoping to find the same part or a compatible alternative, ideally in Melbourne. I’d really like to avoid ripping the wall open to replace the mixer body. Thanks in advance!

What specifically does your mother dislike about her current dining chairs? The answer(s) might well help guide your search. Things to think about: Are the seats at the right height for the table? Are the chairs light enough for your mother to move them easily? Do the chairs provide optimum support wherever your mother needs it? Ideally, you would not address form without first addressing function. Do consider Beverly's question re table size/scale. She's a pro. During my own recent-ish renovation, I learned it was important to make sure my chosen dining table would fit in my renovated home, with room for folks to sit, push their chairs back, and even walk around the pushed-back chairs! As it happens, I didn't buy my first dream choice table because it didn't meet those criteria. I'm very happy with my informed second choice, and I was over the moon when I sat in my old dining chairs and they fit at the table.

I agree with all of Valinta's suggestions, though personally I would only recommend taller nightstands if you raise your mattress. Having the top of a nightstand significantly higher than the mattress surface can be uncomfortable when you are reaching for things. Here's an additional thought for consideration: Take all the clothing (and other items, if any) that you plan to store in your new dresser. Fold/stack/lay out the items as you plan to store them in each drawer. Measure aggregate length of each drawerful, depth, and height. You want to be sure that any dresser you buy will actually hold what you want it to hold, with enough extra room to make both storage and removal easy. If the dressers you are currently considering won't hold all your to-be-stored items, you can: (1) Get rid of items you don't really need, measure again, and see if that solves the problem. (2) Start looking for a dresser that will hold what you want it to hold. (You don't have to do (1), but this is a good opportunity to make sure you're not holding on to things you will never wear/use again anyway.) Based on the pictures you've posted alone, the Emma Mason looks attractive and reasonably practical, except that cleaning under it will take a little work. The Harway looks attractive, and you won't need to clean under it, but it looks impractical. How can you open the drawers? I love having pretty things, but if they don't work as I want them to, then they're not pretty enough for me.
