how to get the old Google back

do you hate the new Google changes? Do you wish you had the old google back? Yes me too! So I have found a few options to help get the old google back.

If you use firefox or chrome there is a new add on that can take care of it.

Hide Google Options browser plugin

If you just want to use a different search link for google you can use this one

http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=all

Google

that will take you to the old google format

if you use greasemonkey there are a few new user scripts that will help you out.

Hate the new Google look? Change it back with a Userscript.

you do of course have to have the greasemonkey add on to be able to use the userscripts there.

I have installed the firefox add on Hide Google Options and it is working great for me on my firefox and also on linux firefox.

I am sure there are more so if anyone knows of any please post them also.

There are many many complaints at the Google forums so they may end up changing it back but till then...

I also had an antique mirror with the crumbling paper on back. I bought brown craft paper at Michael's (the frame guy told me that's what they use), and used my double sided scrapbooking tape to adhere it to the frame. This tape won't yellow like regular scotch tape. Looks like new!

Here it is. I remember it as I likely have celiac but I am not willing to endure 6 weeks of stomach issues from eating gluten so the blood test can be done correctly. Since I have been off gluten for so long, the trest would come back negative even if I have the disease. Here is a link that might be useful: old discussion

check on your firefox with adblock plus that you do have the easylist subscription enabled on it. up top click on tools, adblock plus, filter preferences, make sure you do have easylist there in the filter list checked and also at the very bottom it says allow some non intrusive ads be sure to uncheck that you don't want any ads. edit to add if you do have an ad pop up run your cursor all around the ad and a little tab will pop up saying block click on that and it will put that ad in the blocked list you can do that with any ads, adblock plus will then add them to your list. Any idea how to soften the sofa back cushions of old Stickley sofa

There's no "quick fix" . You take the backs to an upholsterer and get new inserts made with a softer filling. My guess would be someone OVERSTUFFED the backs to re shape them. So it wouldn't look like a lumpy mess. If you feel brave, unzip, Cut the cover inside open and see how much poly wrap or fill has been jammed in, and remove some. Re stitch the inside cover closed. Do this at your own peril. : ) It is very difficult to make two cushion backs hold their shape for any length of time. A dog perching there.........someone throwing an arm over all the time. Even a cat can louse up the shape unless contantly fluffed and rotated and reversed.

Thank you very much. I used the Firefox plugin. New does not always mean better.

Looks like minor differences, but maybe I'm missing something. Can you explain the annoying ("hated") changes?

Also, are we talking about google caffeine or is that the next thing? Thanks.

I disliked the left hand sidebar that is not collapsible and takes up a lot of the real estate of the actual search pane, and the new search format. different things are liked and disliked by different people this thread is for those that preferred the old format and wanted an option to have it back.
