We got the EI23BC51, I think it was, a couple of months ago. Counter depth French door with no ice or water on the door. We haven't had any problems with it. I was worried because some people said it had difficulty holding its temperature, but we've had a fridge thermometer sitting on the shelf since day one and it's always been right where it should be, and right where the fridge's built-in thermostat said it was. We avoided external ice/water partly because we don't like them, and partly because regardless of brand that always seems to be the first thing that goes on the fritz in a refrigerator. In fact, we didn't even hook up the icemaker in the freezer because we didn't feel like we needed it (and we haven't--we have no problem making a new tray of ice every few days, that way it's fresh). So right there we avoided probably 80% of what people who complain about their E-lux fridges are complaining about, so maybe we're not representative, but we haven't had any problems and the salesman told us--as between the E-lux he was selling us and the KA 72" that he also had for sale and we were also considering--that if there ever WERE a problem, he would rather be dealing with Electrolux. (Apparently if you have a problem under warranty, this appliance store deals with E-lux for you, and he said they were easier to deal with than KA.) Hearing that from a salesman who had both fridges for sale--i.e., he was going to make money off me no matter which one I bought--was very reassuring.

I would run away from the new line of Electrolux appliances. They look great, but that is about it. We had the dishwasher, frig, microwave and stove. The only one still standing after less that a year is the gas dual fuel stove, which we like. The frig and dishwasher were defective and thankfully Electrolux agreed to return. 10% off doesn't make up for crappy appliances.

Mike, re: electrolux appliances, specifically the fridge, you might want to explore posts at this site. Electrolux fridges get poor reviews. Re: online purchases. Others have had positive experiences, as have I, just be sure to check return policies, the company's reputation and check the appliances thoroughly when they arrive. Consider rejecting damaged boxes.

Most of us here on GW, advise against buying all the same appliances from the same manufacturer. Elux ovens have always enjoyed a good reputation with features well ahead of some of the others. Fully gliding out racks on ball bearings for instance, and the "Coolest Door in the Industry". They have proved to be accurate performers and also reliable. Iv'e had the Elux 30" Icon oven as well as the 30" Speed oven for over 5 years now, and the only problem I ever had was the handle coming loose on the speed oven, Lock washers took care of that. As far as Elux Fridges go, earlier the reviews were horrible for them, both on GW as well as other Web-sites. Most of the reports we see now seem to be positive about the newer fridges (we see an occasional hicup, but no more than we see with SZ or any other Fridge), and I suspects there are a lot more Elux Fridges sold than SZ, if for no other reason than price----You can "Almost" add another "0" to that $1800 for an SZ Fridge, Rediculous!!!!! I hope your new one is as reliable as your old Elux Fridge (I really would like to see some Pressure put on SZ, both for their prices and their Marketing Strategies (Hide the price). New cars have to have prices posted on them, and while I hate more govt regulation, somebody's gotta step in and help SZ clean up their marketing act--Yea I know, other "Premium Brands" subscribe to the same "marketing Techniques". At least ON GW, we don't see enough post on Elux DW's t get a good "Feel" fo them, so please keep us posted on the performance of yours!
