i'm not quite 100% done, but my bathroom is finally usable!! we got the tub in last weekend and had a few leaky episodes before we figured out that i had missed one of the cpvc fittings when i glued everything together between the hot/cold valves & the spout. fortunately it was an easy fix, and i have been enjoying my new tub since then :) i got a euro type of vanity because of how tight the toilet area is already. never would pass code here because of how close it is to the tub deck, but it wasn't within code to begin with, and once i get an ada toilet it won't be a big deal, at least for me. i would have moved it over a bit, but there is a joist right there so we would have had to go way far or deal with changing the joists - neither was appealing. still looking for a good shower curtain, but in the mean time i'm using a cheap stall liner. also decided to leave the area to the left of the sink undone - i'm not sure what to do with it, so i'm going to live in the room for a while & see what it would be best as. the med cabinet looks a bit off center - just how the stud cavity fell - but it works well with the mirror inside the door, and i think once i figure out all of the rest of that corner, it will look more balanced here are a few pics - please ignore the unfinished details :) lisa from the doorway to the left the shower & ikea storage tower the tub

I could draw up a diagram, but it's absurdly simple. Just take a "T" off your hot and cold supply tubing for the second valve. In my case, I ran the rain head tubing from the supply valve up the shower wall, and up in the shower ceiling (attic floor) joist bay. There is a finished attic space above, though this part of the attic floor is behind a kneewall. For that horizontal run through the attic joist bay, the pipe is pitched for drainage, so when the rainhead valve is turned off the horizontal pipe does hot hold water. The bay is also insulated above the pipe. You could have exposed tubing within the shower if you wanted. If you want to have a traditional shower arm, you can do it. But these heads can be rather unwieldy at the end of a horizontal shower arm that extends out of the wall. You could always fashion a bracket to secure it to the shower ceiling too, that would prevent drooping. The reason I usually install rain heads from the ceiling is that I like them to be in the middle of the shower, not near a wall. You are correct that a true rainhead, you want it horizontal, not at an angle. Do understand there are no hard and fast rules as to how it's plumbed. I simply have my preferences. If you want the rainhead close to the wall, no worries! If you want to keep the plumbing out of the ceiling but still get the head towards the middle of your shower, I did a search for "rain shower head ceiling bracket" and got these three hits, they might give you an idea on how to make up your own solution:

For supplying a single fixture, get the half-inch valve. If the supple tubing is larger they can step it down with a 20 cent adaptor. From what I understand, to get " use two single ' next to each other. It won;t look perfect, but it's what needs to be done on this forum. Or just write "inches". Mongo

I was never, ever able to wear the ivory bracelet, but here on the lamp it doesn't hurt my animal-loving soul And you know, that stuff about my mother (and father, to be perfectly fair for he was a part of it all) doesn't matter. It used to, and it was painful. However for the past many years it just hasn't mattered. I'm not sure precisely when or how, but one day I woke up and realized the wound had healed and the scar is barely visible: when a story with them / their actions comes up it's merely an additional flavor, never the heart of the story. I got over nursing that one a long time ago. I guess because I know them when I wrote what she'd done it was just a piece of the story, certainly not the main part. No biggee. We haven't had a relationship for years, if ever. While I've never actively forgiven them I also no longer care, if that makes sense. I have bigger fish to fry! (mtnrdredux knows I have set my sights on health insurance. Just this week they denied my son's wheelchair saying it's less expensive for them to chance him being hit by a car than fund the pediatric wheelchair. Now this makes my blood boil.)
