Are you talking about the regular wall ovens? The outside 3 inches or so is the clean touch stainless steel which does not show any fingerprints at all. The inside around the window is glass. I know I'm kind of an oddball, but I am about the only person in a development full of no-trim windows who seems to like them. Several of my larger windows are drywall boxed in between the studs. Just spent a fortune replacing a couple of other windows and had to decide whether or not to trim existing windows to match their new neighbors. Contractor thought I was crazy for even considering leaving the old ones as is. We compromised. I still have the untrimmed boxes, but now they are faced in wood instead of drywall. It's a different look, but it's simple and clean. Goes well with my more streamlined tastes. Whatever you decide, here's a tip for painted windowsills. Since mine were boxed in drywall, they were painted. To keep the bottom sill looking fresh, I started always painting just the top side of the bottom sill in bright white washable paint, like the kind one might use for a kitchen or bathroom. No matter how much dust would accumulate in the house, it was always just a quick wipe to make it look like it was freshly painted.

Thanks for all the ideas. My3dogs, love that first one but I can't be driving up to Maine for this! The second one you posted, and the one pps shows, is actually the type of desk I have in there now! It was elsewhere in the house, I had to move it, so I put it in there, but it's not practical in terms of how DD will use it. What I really need is just a plain desk top with maybe a drawer. Oly, I was looking at that first one at HD but reviewers complained about the trim on the bottom being too low to sit comfortably at the desk. DD is small, but not sure if I want to risk it. I have been looking on CL. Usually student desks have that row of drawers on one side, which makes the desk too wide for my space. I'm continuing to look... at tables as well. Home Goods is a good idea. Maybe I'll check it out this week. Kicking myself because, of course, several weeks ago I saw a cute table at a consignment shop nearby but I didn't get it because I wasn't sure... now I'm thinking it may have been perfect!

murfy - Thanks! I love it, too, and basically stole it, so that's why it wasn't sold off with the bulk of our A&C things when we moved. Unfortunately, the current abode is an MCM home with lots of glass. L O T S of glass. Like, in the 19' x 50' great room that includes the kitchen, DR, LR and garden, there is exactly 30' of wall available for furniture placement. The rest of it has to float or be against glass. The poor costumer is stuck in an office for right now.
