The mirror and sink are beautiful. I had a deep red windowless powder room for years. It looked really dramatic and photographed well. However, the red made it pretty uncomfortable to actually be in the room. It made a small room feel even smaller than it was. The color wasn't flattering to anyone checking their appearance in the mirror, and as L said, that's important in a powder room! The biggest issue for me was that there is no heat register in my powder room and it's usually chilly -sometimes it's freezing. I found it really disconcerting to be in a red room that was cold. It was such an unsettling contrast. If you stick with the red, do make sure to use adequate lighting, the large art to counter that closed-in feeling, and be sure it's warm in there. :)

just for grandbabies... they bring a pack n play playpen for now. I may eventually put a day bed in. I really wanted a butter yellow but with the carpet I really don't know. I don't have a good eye for these things. I have some nice wall hangings with all the pastel colours so they will tie it together and look fine no matter what soft colour I go with.

Glad to hear you sound excited about the Caponata. 'Tis true that you can never tell what a paint color really looks like until it is actually up on the wall in the room to be painted and interacting with everything in there, including and especially the lighting. I also think painting swatches on a wall, even in the room to be painted, is useless. It's so deceived by the existing wall color surrounding it. I have found that, painting the swatch right up to any trim, coming from behind a fixture, like a sink, etc., really helps to get a good idea as to what the color will look like. Fortunately for you, the light in your powder room doesn't really change throughout the day, since you don't have a window, so you won't get any surprises, like in the morning it's great color, but in the afternoon, it goes blah, or whatever. It is also my way to post about ideas for something and then finally have time to actually carry out the project years later! About to do the same thing with the entry from out garage. It needs help!! Ha!
