Hi, We made 3 for my daughters room at college. She wanted them larger than we could find cork boards, so we bought pre-stretched artist canvas'. Then we wrapped them with fabric and used a staple gun to attach it to the back. To put the ribbon on we staple gunned it to the back also but to attach it at the criss crosses we used earring blanks and glued metal scrapbook letters on them and put a dab of hot glue on the back to keep them from coming loose. You could glue almost anything to the front of the earring blanks and they were easy to push through the ribbon and fabric. They turned out pretty cute and were not a lot of work. To cover the boards we used leftover fabric scraps from a duvet cover we had made so everything matches. Good luck and have fun!

Oh, Caroline...this is SO familiar. The lime-avocado shag carpeting is EXACTLY what we have in the entire upstairs of this house. I've only pulled up a corner and there are lovely wood floors below but the padding is brittle and things could get interesting. Cannot wait to see it gone! Have you tackled the glue yet? I would try a small area with very warm water (either plain or with a tiny bit of soap added...hey, what about Murphy's Oil Soap?) and you should know fairly quickly if that stuff is water soluble or not because the color will get lighter right away. For what it's worth, it "looks" just like the glue from our kitchen floor. If the water method fails, Ace Hardware has their own brand of adhesive remover which works well. It is a gel and is pretty easy to use. My hubby keeps looking around at all the covered up wood floors saying, "Who in their right mind would DO this?" Keep us posted, Caroline. I have a similar problem and even correcting the orientation using Windows Photo Gallery, the photos continue to show up sideways when sent in email or posted here or any other website. Zep, I checked out the link and it does not offer any help. I frankly think it is either some glitch between PC's and Apple or intentional by Apple. You can make all the corrections you want on the PC and the photos are still sideways. What I do now is upload my photos from my Iphone or Ipad to Photobucket and make the corrections there. I then copy the photo and paste them to my computer. Its ridiculous to have to go through all those steps but I haven't found a way around the problem. Jane
