You are showing a photo of your deck and not what Murry calls their "motion driver" which is the belt that goes from the engine to the transaxle/transmission. The deck belt should be 1/2" wide x 86-3/8" long. May be one of the following part numbers. 037X62, 037X62A, 037X62MA, 037X62WMA, 37X62, 710209, 037X62MA, 37X62 ============ The photo I modified for you is rather sloppy. So I will explain it. Belt over the engine pulley Back to the outside groove on the left blade pulley. (left side as you sit on the machine). Over to the Right blade pulley and around the outside. At this time the belt should have the V shape facing the pulleys. Next the Flat part of the belt over the Idler pulley and back to the engine.

Thank you all for the replies to my lawn mower problem. I haven't solved it yet...basically not much time to try. I did clean the foam filter though it was pretty clean as i had cleaned it just about 3 mowings ago. I made sure the oil is at the right level and there is gas in it of course. I checked to see if I could see light through the little holes inthe gas cap. I didn't buy new gas. This is gas from about 3 months ago. That should be ok I suppose. if the sun shinnes toomorrow I'll get different gas. I read the manual and paperwork for it from the person who bought it. The manual is pretty useless since this is probablty the lowest brand WeedEater makes. I believe the engine is similar or same as an inexpensive Poulan. The engine is series 300 (noot even comes up on the Web. It's B&S model 9S502.I looked on the Briggs & Stratton website but could not find more info. I don't think this moower has things like a screw to adjust the engine speed. It doesn't even have a lever or slider to control speed or to choke (if that's where a choke is). Just the basic bar in front of the handle that has to be pulled back to keep it running. We spayed some carburator "stuff" in the air intake when I had filter off. I wiggled a spring in that area and moved an object (explanation below). I then put the filter back and pushed the primer button 5 times. It wouldn't start for me. The friend pulled it once and it almost started but it didn't. And there was a small puff od dard smoke for the first time. He thought it was worse than the last time and wondered if I had "done" anything else to it since last time he started it. Sooooo Now...I took a photo of the area under the air filter. Because there is a little spring there...and I am wondering what that spring does and if that spring has a problem because it has no tension on it. What makes the spring do whatever it does? I labeled my picture: Line #1 is pointing to the spring. I also labeled another part that has to things sticking out (but it all one part) #2 and wonder what that part is for? I also wonder...firstt replier pastmaster mentioned that My old mower that hit the pole may be fixable. If I took off the blade and tried to start it...would that tell me anything? Hi Robo, funny you should resurrect this thread. We were pretty set on getting a Volvo crossover (DS didn't like the Subaru and we were fine with that since it didn't have any real advantage over the Volvo to us), and planning to look in earnest when they got back from their travels. We were out to lunch the day before they left, and DH mentioned a dealer friend he golfs with. I told him that I had checked his sites regularly and the only used SUVs they had were always late model and way more than what we wanted to spend. But I looked again anyway, and there it was. A 2004 BMW X3, over 100k miles. Not what we were planning on, but this dealer is a friend and we already have bought used BMWs from him and trust him. We called from the lunch table, then hurried over, and bought it. There were two other teenage boys in the waiting room with their Dads wanting to look at the same car. All of the other used SUVs they had were only 2-3 yrs old and multiples of the price. Anyway, yes, service is a killer on luxury cars, esp ones far past their prime. The cars we drive are usually still under warranty, but I had an old Benz once and we gave it to my stepson, who drove it 225k miles before selling it. You have to have the cash for the repairs, but actually it was a good deal all in. Hopefully the BMW will be the same. I am actually glad the car is so old and it even has a few dings; I don't want to spoil him. DS, OTOH, is tickled pink to have an X3. Safety wise, it has side airbags as well as front, and a low center of gravity, eg crossover SUV. Having now spent half of what we planned on, I told DS the first 7k of repairs are on us, LOL. In actuality I don't expect him to fully cover the costs of owning and insuring a vehicle; as long as he is a good student and is working at a job too, he is doing what we need him to do. The purpose of the job is to make sure they don't lose sight of the value of a dollar, but with all of the academic, extracurricular and volunteer demands on his time, (not to mention all the travel we do), he can't realistically earn terribly much. Good news is the dealer will give him a job (washing cars). ETA: Good luck to all the new drivers out there!
