Just wanted to jump in here with my own experience. I have a two-year old Wolf AG 36" range. I had this issue once or twice in the spring after we installed our range in January of 2007. My burners dld not light fully and/or the oven would not heat up fully when both were going at once. I had a repairman out to look at it and everything was working properly. After checking the thermostat and my gas lines (which were fine), he ordered a patch kit per Wolf's instructions and was scheduled to come back for the repair. However, the problem has never recurred and I never scheduled the followup service. I'm a cook; I've prepared Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter meals as well as everyday family meals and hosted many successful dinner parties over the past two years. I do have one burner out of six that seems slow to ignite, sometimes "whooshing" when it finally lights. I've found that if I turn it on slowly, allowing gas to escape before the igniter lights, the burner lights properly Just a quirk on that one burner. Otherwise, my stovetop, oven, infrared broiler all work perfectly. I do think it's an oxygen issue with the one front burner. Another trick that works for me with that burner is to wave the air over this burner before attempting to light to provide fresh air/oxygen. As for the oven issue, my husband thought at the time (as did others on this forum) that it might be a gas line issue, even an issue of fluctuating gas pressure coming from the street's common gas lines. We live in an older neighborhood and it seems like a reasonable explanation since we've had zero problems since. Of course, I'm no engineer! Anyway, hope you get your problems resolved. Wolf seems to have wonderful customer service. I really do love my stove . . . wouldn't trade it for anything else. Love the solid fit and finish, the open burners' flame pattern, and the fabulous infrared broiler. More than enough firepower for me. I also love that all six burners are the same BTU's.

I was so fed up with the Wolf that I was also leaning heavily toward Viking because Bluestar was not available within the province of Ontario. Two things changed my mind: I went to see a Viking and didn't like the burners at all, and then Bluestar finally arrived and my decision was made. I feel for you, but I'd save yourself a lot of hassle and take the money. Yes, they support their product and yes, they're very friendly on the phone, but I don't think they have a clue as to what's going on with the burner situation. No company goes around writing $5-6K cheques for ranges they can definitively diagnose and fix.

2) Sounds like you got unlucky with a bad blower. A 1000 CFM hood with the griddle should be fine. If you had the infrared grill, it would be a different story. 3) I'm guessing what you are seeing is, indeed, humidity. A gas oven will exhibit plenty of moisture on the backsplash until the oven heats up and the water is turned to steam. I'm also guessing you're coming from an electric oven. Enjoy the humidiity, especially if you bake. Breads, cookies, etc will all turn out better. 4) "Season" the griddle just as you would a cast iron skillet: dampen a wad of paper towels with vegetable oil. Swab the griddle with the wad. Heat the griddle on max until you see smoke. Once the hot griddle starts to seem dry, CAREFULLY rewipe it with the wad (wear an oven mitt or other substantial protection if this makes you nervous). Cool the griddle completely. Repeat entire sequence three times. Your griddle is now good to go. NEVER clean it with soap, or you will have to start over. Same goes for acidic foods, such as tomato, vinegar, or lemon. Be prepared to embrace that dark mahogany patina; the showroom-new gray is gone forever.

Ani - I'm one of the ones with the issues w/the Wolf AG range. Chances are you "might" be OK with your new purchase. We, however, are quite glad to be rid of our problematic Wolf and very happy with the new American. That said, if you do have issues, Wolf was very good about servicing (except for the one guy that thought I was crazy) and in the end, did the right thing by buying back the range, in full plus installation. In other words, they stood by the product. I do think though there are still some unresolved issues with the AG ranges that were put in to production for the 2007 year. (mainly because no one could figure out what the problem was and fix it!) If that has been resolved, you should be great for many years! As to your solutions listed above - a - tried on some ranges, didn't completely resolve the issue. b - the riser is not the issue as some have had issues with the taller risers c- the problem was not the regulator but it was replaced anyway. d - gas line - be sure your gas line from street to house, house to range etc meets the standards of Wolf as stated in docs (ours did, but still had problems) If you stick with it, most if not all problems with the ranges I know about were noticeable right off so it shouldn't take you long to see if the burner/oven issues are evident in your range.
