That is exactly the front door I envision for our home - where is it from and would you mind sharing cost?

As far as paint, we're planning a very traditional Georgian-inspired home so ours will be black with red brick and white siding. But our door/shutters in our house now are all painted a similar shade as the green you've selected and we did door and sidelights in green and trim in white.

So, to sum, you are using green shutters?

I think I would tend to do door and sidelights same or trim and sidelights same, but not all 3 the same. And, which you choose would be if you want a double-sized color, or single color.

If it were me, and green were my shutters, I probably go for a darker green for door.

But, with your brick, I think I would like either dark blue (to almost black) or dark red.

Which way does it face? Will it get Western or Southern Sun? If so, you may not be able to do too dark a color without voiding the door's warranty.

I would also consider a charcoal gray to black--again, assuming your door is north-facing like mine. All darks are off if we're talking a west or south-facing door.

Kirk -- We are west-facing on the front door. What do you think about a dark red, with cream trim?

I think that would work, colorwise. Do you have a temporary door in place now? Can you paint a large swath of it to just try it out?

You'll want to check in on manufacturer warranties with any dark colors. Do you have the potential for shade? (how deep is your front porch)

It would be worth asking on the Home Decor forum too, where there are professionals who really know this stuff and could give you specific color recommendations (as in, which paint, and what saturation).

I love the idea of navy for a front door with your green shutters, if it doesn't invalidate your warranty to paint a deep color.
I think I'd avoid red given the green shutters. You don't want to see a "Christmas package" everytime you look at your facade.
Your facade is hefty enough that I also think you could pull off the sidelights and the door in navy, and all the trim in white. If you want a lighter look then just the door in navy and the sidelights and trim in the cream.

Your elevation is so pretty you could probably do just about anything and have it look outstanding. Watch that western sun- that was a killer on our last front door finish.

This home is stunning. If it were me, I'd paint it Essex Green or Black Forest Green. Even with West facing sun. I think the porch will help with that a bit. But I've never been a very practical woman. :)
