Hardie plank siding plus trim
Comments (1)There is vinyl, and then there is premium vinyl. The best vinyl soffit has hidden slotted vents that can't be seen from the ground, and the material is thick. It works well and looks good, provided you get a good color match. Don't accept any other soffit material in vinyl. I'm not sure about the aluminum rake and facia boards. $2,500 for all Hardie sounds reasonable, depending on how many linear feet are involved. It's certainly not way out of line....See MoreMaterial of Shutters w/ Hardie siding
Comments (2)I'm a fan of operational shutters with hardware, so my vote is wood or composite shutters. Here's a link that may be helpful: http://www.architecturaldepot.com/shutters.html...See MoreCan hardi cedarmill vertical siding be used with vinyl shakes?
Comments (7)Yes I know, it’s out of our budget. The only reason we considered the panel is because we found enough to do our house and the additional buildings on the property. The hardie shakes are even more expensive than the hardie panels. I just wanted to make sure Hardi panel and vinyl shakes can be installed together prior to buying the hardie panels....See MoreHardie Siding, LP Smart Siding or Everlast Siding
Comments (8)I'm getting ready to build next spring and I've only read good things about Everlast. Seems to be used mostly on the east coast. The only issue is they do not offer a shingle version which I need. I would like to use the same brand on this house that has shiplap, shingle and board and batten siding for color match purposes. I've also read good things about NuCedar (shingle siding) and Celect. Both of those products are cellular PVC with a baked on paint. There are way too many threads on Houzz regarding how bad the cement board products are. They seem very very dependent on perfect installation and what climate they are used in. I'm in Michigan so I am not messing with a product that likes to absorb water if not perfectly primed....See Moremikeyvon
