It is true, Calistoga, that experienced gardeners see a lot of repeated basic info in garden magazines. However, I have been getting garden magazines for over 30 years and the diminishing quantity and quality of info is startling. This is true of magazines--and newspapers--and even TV channels--in other subject areas as well. I cut out useful articles and file them by subject. I have done this for years and have over 50 subject areas in the garden field. It's easy to compare articles from magazines even ten years ago, never mind 20 or 30. The over-simplification is very obvious. The reasons are complex--cost of publishing, editors who don't know anything about gardening, people who just don't have time to read--or are too busy watching TV. And of course the internet. The internet has been fantastic for gardeners--I love it--but not so good for garden magazines and books. End of rant!

do not panic every thing will ask you that it is just the fail safe to make sure you did not click something accidentally. If it is a program you no longer use or need then go ahead and remove it. YOU must remove it totally you do not want bits and pieces left behind any more than it already does because that can cause conflicts and problems. which is why some programs have additional specific removal tools built for them. Such as McAfee and Norton, for those you do the regular add remove programs then from their website get and use their specific removal tool to get the bits and pieces then you still have to go through and delete some of the left behind folders. but for most ordinary programs add remove does a good job. If you do not know what it is then don't delete it with out doing some serious googling on it to see what it is. If you know what it is and don't use it anymore then just do it. And remember to empty that recycle bin. It will give you room back on your hard drive and depending on how crowded your hd is that could be beneficial, it may or may not speed up your pc. Things that help there would be looking in your startup menu and seeing exactly what is starting up when the computer boots, many times there are things in there that do not have to start up at bootup. but that is a place you definitely need to do some research on what each of the .exe listed there controls. The thing that will speed up your pc most is adding RAM memory if you can and since it is pretty cheap and easy to do it is the best way to breathe new life in to the pc. AND make sure you open the side of the pc(disconnected from power) and clean out those dust bunnies on a regular basis. PS in add remove do NOT remove any of the MS hotfixes or updates.

Hi All First post here and would like to ask for some assistance from this group on our pool bid. First off, I am having sticker shock, but know that if you want it done right, you have to pay. The question here is related more to what is included in the bid and if there is anything missing or something that I should add or delete from the specifications. Any help or comments are appreciated. TEXT FROM BID IS BELOW: Attached is the revised quote for the pool and spa. As you requested, I have moved the spa away from the pool 3 feet or so, modified the size to an 8 dia. round, and made it a separate entity, although still on one mechanical system. The piping and valves will be configured so that you will be able to winterize the pool and operate the spa year around. The piping trench for the spa lines will be insulated with 2" rigid polystyrene foam board and carefully bedded in clean sand. The pool-spa heater has also been increased to a Lochinvar ERN-402 (399,000 BTU from 300,000 BTU) to accommodate the larger water surface area (1000, sq. ft. to 1250 sq. ft.) Also, I left the interior pool finish options the same price as the 20X50 pool. As I write this, I realized I will also have to go to the commercial Volleyball game (the volleyball game in the original proposal is only for pools up to 20 wide) which you can assume is included. ACTUAL BID DOCUMENT This proposal is based on construction of a rectangular swimming pool that is 20 wide and 50 long (water dimensions) and conforms to the attached preliminary sketch. The boycott of Ender's Game does raise the issue of how to reconcile your response to a work of art to an artist's behavior. Card's opinions, however, are hardly a secret. He has not just been a recent opponent of same-sex marriage. He has been publicly expressing views against gay people for years. If there is any censorship against Card it must be coming from the movie studio, since his views are clearly going to hit them in their pocketbook. I know of some younger readers who found Ender's Game to be a book with Fascist overtones. Card, however, seems to take any dissent to his views as religious persecution, which to me is like having your cake and eating it too. Even if I was interested in SF, he seems like such a paranoid, neurotic person, I think I would rather just skip his books. It reminds me a bit of all those German opera singers who joined the Nazi party before WWII. After the war, most of the great opera houses would not hire them. Just because someone is an artist doesn't mean that they are absolved from the facing the consequences of their behavior or politics.
