Apparently it wasn't obvious I was being sarcastic and attempting some humor. I am not a 1 percenter, I just thought that was the common perception of Miele owners. Actually, my first post here years ago was interesting. I asked about Miele and someone responded (paraphrased), "I love Miele and have them in all my homes." He or she was serious and I knew things would get interesting. We bought the Miele for one reason. We are short on space and a 24" Euro machine was the only option. Even the smallest (quality) US models are 27" and that would not work. Since Bosch and Asko are constantly being repaired (seems to be the case) we went with Miele and have had two issues (one washer, one dryer) in six years. The washer had a mother board fried in an electrical storm and blackout (warranty paid for it) and the dryer is this problem. I agree this is a very dumb design. I'm expecting that, like most things German, it is over engineered and there is some obscure minutia based advantage to this particular materials conductivity. I for one am glad of German obsession with over engineering since it helped them lose WWII! Any way, I have the part now and it is the entire assembly, not just the carbon/metal pieces. It actually came with instructions, but in German! How ridiculous. I get a little intimidated by electrical connections, but this shouldn't be too bad (famous last words?). I am just sick of the appliance repair game. Nobody stocks any parts and so you have to go through the initial visit with the, "Gee sir, you were right, you need this part, I'll be back in 3 weeks, so go wash your clothes in the river until then."

I had the same problem and it was exactly as gayle said, it was the darn pull-chains knocking against the fan housing! I used a tiny bit of museum wax to stick the chain to the fan housing, no more click-click-click. If the fan's really shaking a lot once it gets going, it probably isn't supported well enough. This is common when a conventional overhead light is replaced by a ceiling fan. Take the fan down, disconnect and remove the electrical box, and insert a retrofit brace like this one, available at any hardware store or home center. It slides right into the hole, very easy to install. Then electrician puts wires back into box and puts ceiling fan back up. Should take less than 30 minutes unless your electrician is a total yutz. ;-) Oh, and a P.S. - if the fan has a light kit, the bulbs will last a lot longer if you use the special ceiling fan bulbs. They are made to better withstand the fan's vibration, which weakens the filaments in regular bulbs. They're also smaller, which looks far more attractive in kits with downlights.

I have 2 Minka Aire remote control fans, 4 years old, though one has already been replaced by the dealer. One fan is relatively quiet, the replaced master bedroom fan’s motor sounds like a washing machine at night. Whoosh, whoosh…not a constant level noise. The noise is getting louder over time. There is no clicking noise, definitely seems to be in the motor. The dealer is willing to replace the fan, again, but I must take this one down and put new one up, only to have the noise begin again in a year or so. I have two other way less expensive motorized ceiling fans and they are very quiet, all these fans are the same age, except the replaced one. Am I correct that these fan motors cannot be oiled? Having this taken down and replaced will cost more than a new fan. Seeing all these posts tells me it’s a quality problem with Mika.

This is a wall mounted Mini washer machine. I am not sure what to do because this washer machine is from UK and Asia. What professional should I ask to fix this issue. It will not start rolling, it just makes the clicking noises. Is it because of the outlet. This outlet previously stopped working, but an electrician got it to work again. I am suspecting that maybe this is the reason, because I have heard refrigerators do not work when the outlet is not separate from the others, because it needs a lot of power. Any one know what kind of person would know how to resolve this issue?
