Are any of you getting a Google ad between about the 5 and 6th post....

I get an empty space between the 5th and 6th header on the main page Gene. Using Adblock prevents the ad from loading. This is with Firefox and Opera.

This does not seem to happen in the threads.

That's a relief! Thought it was my laptop playing up...get that empty space in same position on every thread on every site in GW.

Swan puts a disclaimer in their catalogue about their pics sometimes not matching due to pre-press ink colors etc. But I have had every experience dealing with names and colors that everyone here posted and I am convinced some dahlias are just hard headed. I had (the equivalent of) Awe Shucks (from Connells?) bloom last year and it was so YELLOW after the first bloom that I moved it from the orange section to the yellow section this year. So what does it do? It's been every bit the orange I thought it was supposed to be originally. I only moved it 8 feet away - same soil, ground, feeding and watering. I planted a store bought smallish rust orange tuber, planted it in the orange section in the ground and it barely bloomed at all last year. Got perhaps 6-7 small flowers. Color was 'muddy' - not at all what I thought it was supposed to be. So I moved it to a container in the 'graveyard' and this year it has been spectacular. Numerous blooms off a taller plant with rust orange blooms starting out reddish orange. The bottom line (IMHO)is that like others have said, so many factors can affect size, color and hardiness that I suspect few identical dahlias look and grow the same in any 2 gardens. I've learned to be patient (up to 3 years of no blooms even) as long as the plant looks healthy and simply accept what you get. For a color coordinated gardener like me, this advice drives me nuts but it is reality in a dahlia world. Dahlias just aren't like roses which always look like the box! DCR

Warning about GE Cafe Refrigerator deceptive advertising

Ok, so all of you who are on this thread who actually OWN a GE Cafe Fridge---how are you liking it (other than the fit!) Do you have the ice and water outside? Does the icemaker still work, as I know that is a known issue with just about all french door fridges when the ice is made up in the fridge area, not down in the freezer. We are looking at a full-size (not counter depth) GE Cafe Fridge. We do want the water and ice in the door for convenience. Are compressors still working? Have they frozen up? I worry about them dumping water on my new hardwood floors, since I have never had hardwoods in a kitchen before! It seems not many fridges have great reviews if you don't want to spend your life savings on one so trying to find the best of the bunch. Nothing I hate worse than a fridge that doesn't run and trying to get all your food in coolers until you can get it fixed or replaced! Advice and reviews on these would be appreciated! Thanks!

Same here with empty space using Chrome and adblock and adblock plus.

Firefox with adblock plus and easylist takes all the ads away all I see is the blank spot

Yes, just got this new laptop and didnt realize or forgot about adblock...still cannot normally open any threads, have to right click then select Open

I've just started getting that "blank-space" too after 5 or 6 thread-tiles!! My adblock is stopping something too I s'pose?!?
This started for ME anyway, when that damn "script warning" stuff started too. I have to click a thread/link twice to get the script window to come up.
I've been running Firefox 10.0.2 under XP.

My unresponsive script is this, if it helps anything?!?!:

If I ever decided to start using Ad-block, this site would lose a lot of it's entertainment value. I could live with the ads if they would at least work properly, but the fact that they don't proves to me that this site is rapidly becoming an epic FAIL. NO other site that I visit gives me as many script errors and Flash plugin crashes as does GW...and I go to a lot of web sites.

If that wasn't enough, I wish I could learn the behind-the-scenes story of how GW chooses to show me the ads I get. Why they think I would possibly be interested in prenatal & postnatal yoga counselling in a town over 100 miles away is quite beyond me. I find it hard to believe that the customers who are paying GW to do these ads are actually getting any bang for their buck.

It says I'm in Twinsburg OH, which must be where my ISP is pulling an ip from...but of course I don't have any control over that. Sorta makes the whole process pointless for me.
