Makes your eyesight fail from reading all the tiny descriptions while searching for the right one to click on. Then with failing eyesight you cant read the descriptions before pressing the OK buttons that seem to pop up for unknown reasons.

they are just icons so they do not impact anything those are simply shortcuts they can be removed with no effect also.
It just makes for a very messy desktop with lots of icons, if you want to use your desktop for storage it is much better to create individual folders on the desktop and put your icons or links in the labeled folders.
I like very few or no icons on my desktop.

Why would you have so many what are you putting shortcuts to?

My sister was putting every picture she saved on her desktop OMG it was a horrid mess, I created a pictures folder for her on the desktop so she can just drag them into it and have them still where she can easily find them.

There was a post here a bit of a while back, and the poster ended up self-diagnosing that the concern was created by "too" many icons on the Desktop. I can't remember anything more, and it is not worth searching as I recall thinking, "how can that be?".

Other than that I agree......CLUTTER.

I only have 3 icons on my desktop which I replace with icons that match my wallpaper. At times there will be others that are temporary because I am working with what them. I have a folder in my documents named graphics that I keep clip art, icons, avatars, etc. in.

Reminds me, I have an invisable folder on my desktop. Now were is that thing..

Mikie, I think it hopped over to my desktop, but now I can't find it!
