I haven't used apothecary jars in decorating sounds like a good idea. but I don't dare start any more things this year.

I think jars and cloches make for very easy decorating. I have several clear vases/jars filled with ornaments and I put rolls of Christmas ribbons in a cloche last year. Once I filled some clear cylinder vases with fresh cranberries and then put a floating candle on top. I've also used those same cylinders filled with beaded garland and set a candle on top of that. The only pic I could easily find was the cloche with the ribbon rolls in it.

I keep a set of three apothecary jars on my kitchen table year-round. They were originally filled with candy, but I change out the contents seasonally. I use different kinds of vase fillers like eggs for Easter, pumpkins and gourds for autumn, and pinecones and berries for winter. I even have some faux potted plants that I use in the summer.

I will definitely keep this in mind for next year! :)

I make my own cloche(s)using a glass hurricane you can buy at thrift stores, cheap! You need to make sure it's big enough around so something can be put underneath. I glue a glass door knob to the smaller of the two ends~this creates the handle for lifting the 'cloche'. I sell them in my space at the antique mall during the season and they do well.
