Well, I can only give you my personal experience (whether that is "fact" or not is up to you) but I do have chemical sensitivities and had no problem at all when we put a cultured marble vanity top in our home. It was in a mostly-open (large cutouts) box when we purchased it from Lowes so I would guess it had already done what offgassing it was going to do before then. Did you Google 'MSDS "cultured marble"'? I found one MSDS in less than ten seconds.

FWIW I got a Swanstone counter with integrated sink in white. Its solid white (and I love it - so easy to clean). Bought it at big orange for cheap, after reading so poor reviews for cultured marble (which wasn't that much cheaper).

Not sure if this is too late but, find a complementary vanity top. If down the road you replace the jacuzzi surround pick a tile that goes well with the vanity or matches bathroom backsplash, (if you have one).I hope you don’t decide to get rid of the tub. With proper maintenance a jetted tub is such a treat. Lived without one for almost two years and couldn’t wait to have one installed in the new house. (for us it is well worth the money I use it several times a month.) My maintenance program: -Once a month I use jacuzzi brand, systems clean. There are other brands on the market but I found them to be awful and leads to build up in the jets. - Before exiting the tub I use a microfiber cloth and wipe around the sides. This helps to keep soap scum build up away. IMO It’s a good hand any tub. - Also before exiting the time I point all the-jets down to drain. -1-2 times year being the clean freak I am I clean around the jets with soft scrub and a small sponge. For the most part besides regular tub cleaning, that’s it.

@acm I don‘t know if these would be considered custom or not. I got the vanities from the same guys. All I picked was the color and the shape of the sink. No one asked about anything else. All the houses I’ve lived in have had over flows on the sinks—even the cheap cultured marble. It never occurred to me to specify and I’m disappointed my builder didn‘t recommend them since these are kids’ bathrooms. @suzyq53 the stoppers are now gone. Had we noticed the lack of over flows prior to this, they would have been gone moths ago. Of course now I have to worry about them dropping things down the drain. I guess I’ll go look for those wire hair traps tomorrow. Hopefully they make them for small vanity sinks. @AFoster The house I built in 2004 had cultured marble with the overflow. I just assumed that was standard. Like you, my husband and I are pretty handy and can fix this ourselves, but it is a PITA and not something you expect in a 6 month old house. It is a good thing we were home when it happened. This is supposed to be our forever home, so we need to find a fix. I’m hoping we can add overflows because we have two bathrooms with double sinks and I don’t want to replace counters and sinks.
